For some reason, Pepsi has decided it was a good idea to resurrect Crystal Pepsi. Maybe it’s like Hollywood, where they ocasionally release a bomb and then use it as a tax write-off. Or perhaps they found a couple of packs of whatever that gross, sorta cream-soda-ish flavor was, and said “What the heck? Might as well use 'em up.”
Perhaps we’ll see the return of Lemon Coke next. I hope not. I still suspect that someone at Coca Cola spilled lemon-scented furniture polish into a vat of Coke, and then they quickly created “Lemon Coke” rather than dump the contaminated batch down the drain.
Just, please don’t bring back Coca-Cola Blak. Dear God, what was that foul stuff ?!
Jumpin Jebus on a pogo stick, wtf? Hey Pepsi, why the hell are you fucking around with that shit when you already have something you can bring back and you know people want? I am of course talking about Mt Dew Pitch Black. The original, not the shitty sour one. Last time you brought it back you thoughtfully put drunken baboons in charge of production and delivery, ensuring that random stores got random amounts for a seemingly random amount of time until you yanked even that little bit of hope away. How about this time you just start making it and we’ll tell you when to stop?
Also, if you even look at Pepsi Kona I’m coming over there and dope slapping each and every one of you.
Well, I’ll be damned, it’s like the 90s are here all over again. I think I’ll go to a rave and drink my Crystal Pepsi after I update my 'zine and watch the latest episode of 90210.
Snapple started out with a line of “clear” sodas – cola, orange, root beer, etc. – in the late '70s before focusing exclusively on iced teas and lemonades.
Speaking of which, I really miss Snapple Mint Iced Tea and Orange Iced Tea. They both disappeared just about 20 years ago.
Ah, Zima. I remember back in 1996 or so, a buddy and I went into a kind of old-school bar in Kansas City. I told my friend I’d buy the first round. I ordered a Beam on the rocks. I asked my buddy what he wanted. He said, “Zima and Grenadine.” I told him I’d give him the money, but he had to order it. I guess that was a trendy drink for a while.
Zima was bad enough. But adding Grenadine? Jesus wept.
PepsiCo made the “Slice” line of fruit flavored sodas. Mostly they pushed the Lemon-Lime and the Mandarin Orange but for a short time they produced an Apple flavor. Apple Slice was my all-time favorite soda. I loved it and I miss it. It must be about 30 years since I’ve had one.
