That has been my experience.
I like these.
I had cucumber shochu at a dinner with co-workers some years ago (Japanese company.) that stuff hits you hard.
I make cucumber vodka, it is super drinkable if you pour it at room temp over ice.
then you stand up after a couple and realize you have been drinking
When I’ve seen it they’ve been sliced like lemon pieces.
In the summer I often make Sassy Water, which is sliced cucumber, lemon, and a little fresh ginger (cuke and ginger peeled). It is very refreshing.
I have a gallon jug in my fridge in which I often throw in a few slices each of cucumber, lemon or lime, and a sprig of mint. It’s definitely very refreshing and changes up the flavor. As for health benefits? If there are, they’re pretty negligible.
Opposite for me. I’ve never seen them peeled.
I’ve made it with cukes and mint sprigs. It’s nice during the summer. The health claims are that it is supposed to reduce bloating especially in the stomach. Needless to say, it’s quite popular on middle aged women’s blogs and Pintrest.
I don’t think it has any real health benefits, but it’s a change from orange and lemon slices. It looks pretty, like something you would see on the table if you were invited to a garden party at Martha Stewart’s home.
Same here. Typically unpeeled (can’t remember ever seeing them peeled.) Just Google image search “cucumber water.” I can’t seem to find a single image with them peeled.
Personally, I like to get the best of both worlds by “forking” the peel prior to slicing. It removes some peel, bruises the flesh, and looks nice.
I make it with lime slices and mint leaves. It tastes absolutely great the first day, okay the second and vile after that.
They have this in our Southern California office at work.
Cucumber and Cilantro Spa Water.
Peeled, sliced cucumber and cilantro sitting in a large container if ice water.
It’s really pretty good. Its just cold water with a touch of flavor.
Meh. If it’s just water infused with cucumber, then this is just one variety of aguas frescas that have been around in Mexico forever. I can’t wait to see when the hot new flavor in the U.S. will be avocado water, cactus water, jicama (Mexican yam) water, etc.
Oyster water? Clam water? the mind boggles!
