Is there a permanent and effective cure for hyperpigmentation? I have these two darkish spots on my face that are darker than the rest of the skin. I am a South Asian male with a brown skin. I have tried using hydroquinone cream(4%), and all I have managed is to somewhat reduce the darkeness. It does not go away altogether and the contrast returns if I stop using the cream. I once tried using a cream with a higher concentration of hydroquinone and ended up lightening the skin around the hyperpigmented spot leading to three tones - the lightened but not completely restored hyperpigmented spot, a much lighter halo surrounding the latter and then the rest of my skin. Am I to assume that the hyperpigmentation will never go away completely?
