Earthsky is saying, “An increase in geomagnetic activity is anticipated later on today. There are chances it could reach a G1 (minor) to G2 (moderate) geomagnetic storm level.”
I don’t follow solar weather like I used to but I can recommend VE3EN’s solarham website below. It’s geared toward amateur radio operators but otherwise a nice resource for sun stuff.

You live waay out in the country? Maybe related. Although if it rained heavily in the last 2 or 3 days it could be from water intrusion too.
If you’re in relatively new construction I’d bet not due to solar magnetic storms. Especially since they’re minor now, which they are a sizeable fraction of every week. This event just seems to have caught on with social media and the lay press.
