True. But that’s also true of substantially every recall of any other brand of vehicle from the Ford Model T to the latest 2025 products of everyone else.
I’ve never owned a new vehicle that didn’t have multiple recalls.
I’ve also never owned a vehicle that was recalled because glued-on parts were falling off of it.
Right, it was just a joke about how Tesla recalls are occasionally implied to be less meaningful because they’re usually fixed OTA.
The good news is that Tesla is known for quick repair turnaround, and getting those 40,000 or so vehicles corrected should be really quick.
More like some half-chewed Juicy Fruit.
Actually to be clear, it is not Tesla that is making the recall, it is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It seem like they have not been defunded yet, so they are still active. Maybe soon they will get a visit from Musk to stop this nonsense of saying his vehicles aren’t safe.

I wonder what this will cost Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) … y’know … in terms of earnings per share.
I doubt it will help the stock price.
Shame.
Didn’t you hear, recalls don’t matter to the stock price. The future is robots. Two robots in every pot!
Revell never returns my calls…
Hey, full credit to Tesla, my fighter planes always ended up a mass of parts and glue, only vaguely looking plane-like. Those bits falling off did look like they belonged.

per the video (and from memory), you remove the pad from bottom of the door storage pocket, pry off the semi-obvious cover (that is where fingernails come in handy), which then exposes a handle you pull to open the door. Easy-peasy while the car fills with smoke/water/flames.
Of course, if it’s a Cybertruck you can probably just give the door a firm kick and it will fall off, along with several of the adjacent body panels.
Oh ppft.
Any real cyberwanker should have a Boring Co. Flamethrower to open the door withbin that situation.
I’ve seen a whole lot of the things with a wrap on them. Wonder how much that costs and if they’ll be trash after the recall.
hahaha that’s perfect.
A wrap is probably holding the whole thing together.
I suspect adding a wrap to the unwrapped trucks might be Tesla’s solution to the problem.
This scale modeller would purchase this apparent top-seller…

…only if this Canuck could place that dastardly side-decal upside down, which would, indeed, be a silly waste of money that I’d obviously not follow through on, but damn, I can only imagine the reactions if I did post such a result on the many Facebook modelling groups I frequent, where it becomes evident that the majority of builders are white, Southern, and old.
For a digressionary example, I built the following, The Ricksha, and then posted it in Facebook.
With the build came an explanation that I refrained from making that fucking ridiculous (didn’t use those exact words) shit on the front of the radiator; I just left it in its original chrome, and got a couple responses from grizzled old coots going on about “FREEDOM!”. Even the “hat” I came close to nixing, but figured it was ok if not being seen in conjunction with the original stupid rad.
Anyway enough of this being a modelling thread. Back to: seen at least two Cybertrucks in the wild, with last Friday’s being black. Hopefully next time I’ll be within audible yelling distance (Hey how are those panels holding out?)
