Not sure why, but you can download Robert Brown’s The Da Vinci Code for free today on Amazon. You don’t need a Kindle to read it; you can also download free apps to read the book. I know this book was largely excoriated among our membership, but hey . . . free stuff!
Thanks! Free stuff!
For anyone who’s considering reading it: Don’t take anything in it too seriously, but as a fun, fast-paced “popcorn read,” I enjoyed it.
I’ve read it. It’s a good time-killer. A lot of the books on my Kindle are that. Something to keep me busy. I figured out the plot pretty early, but then I’d read Holy Blood, Holy Grail about 10 years (or more) before Da Vinci Code came out.
It’s probably free because his new book *Inferno * is coming out in about two months, and they are hoping to build anticipation for those who haven’t read DVC and re-interest those who did and liked it.
ETA: I see that the free Kindle download includes “a sample chapter” from Inferno. Doesn’t say if it’s the first chapter.
Nitpick … that’s DAN Brown.
For those who “bought” the Kindle edition, you can now get the audio edition at Audible.com for $0.99.
