Dairy Wars - A Milky Morning Post

0830 EDT, and I’m the first poster today?

Bunch of slackers…

doggie, too funny. Imagine my reaction when I just logged on, still groggy, only to read that! Thanks for the laugh.

Bobbio, I’m here, though I don’t know if I’m awake yet.

Spent an hour last night working on the new place. The nice thing is, there doesn’t seem to be that much to clean or caulk.

I’m already planning where my garden is going to go.

i’m a slacker, you’re slacker, he’s a slacker …
wouldn’t you like to be a slacker too ?

No kidding! Maybe they all melted.

I hate heat. I really do. I don’t want to work, I don’t want to eat, I barely want to breathe. Blech.

I’m dying. :frowning: Donations can be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. melts

Morning all! I’m not a slacker bobbio, I just had to divert warp power to the A/C. It has already hit 90 at 0930. I going to go to the dog park, then havr some Corn Flakes.

Ladies, your welcome. I also do windows.

I feel sorry for the windows.

Drae, you can have a joint funeral with my brain. It died yesterday after THREE AND A HALF HOURS outside in the heat moving a chunk of PVC pipe around in a circle. :o

Slackers? Aren’t those a type of pants?

I was watching that new Sci-Fi show Eureka! last night. The episode was all about the bigshot scientist in town actually being a fake. For decades he had been using a device that erases short term memory to steal other people’s breakthroughs. Of course, he stole the device too, and erased that memory from the guy who made it. It was a really well done episode, IMO. Any of you guys watching it?

Pun time!

Hopefully I won’t be taking more data today. Blech.

I’m watching it. I was feeling a little meh about the first couple episodes, but it started to hit its stride last night. My favorite part has to be the house’s voice. Never fails to crack me up.

Today is all about gluing boxes and mop handles. My job has been such a joy this week! All the mop handles have a metal end to which the mop attaches. The metal ends are either spring clamps or <snerk> screw clamps. <snerk> They are this way because how else is one going to attach a mophead. One customer (a transitional center, where bad folks go between prison and parole or release) just cannot wrap their heads around this. If they want all wooden handles they must buy mops that are glued to the handle or clamped on the handle with wire. We don’t sell that top of mop because institutions and commercial places want detachable mopheads that they can throw in the wash. A solid wooden mop handle would do absolutely no good except to beat somebody over the head maybe. IOW, that’s called a stick. Gluing boxes is good. They’re for a customer that actually has some sense.

So, how’s everybody else’s day going?

Well, swampy, if these corporations wanted to, they could get the kind with the non-removable head, and just throw the whole thing in a really big washer. Duh.

Also, if we are sending around scantily clad man-slaves to fan us, I’ll take one here. It isn’t even that hot inside because the AC is on, but I’ll turn it off if I need to.

Lousy, thank you. The circuit popped off again last night, so I went downstairs and popped it back on. When it popped off the 3rd time, I said ‘screw it’, opened the bedroom window and threw on the whole house fan. That made a significant difference in that it creates this strong breeze . . . that dances across me and keeps me awake as I’m trying to sleep. Which I couldn’t. Until about a half hour before the alarm went off. I hit the snooze bar a few extra times and called in late (I sure as hell wasn’t going to stay home without a/c - tho I did pop the breaker back on before I left - keep your fingers crossed that I don’t come home to an oven). Funny thing is, I don’t feel any differently, for lack of sleep, than I do most days anyway.

That reminds me of what my computer decided to start doing last night - not stay connected to the internet. No matter what I did, it wouldn’t work - except that it told me it was connected. My computer tells lies, dirty filthy lies. Anyway. I think the problem was that my 15 day trial of ZoneAlarm was ending, and it kept freezing on the final shutdown of that program. ZoneAlarm, for those of you who are unfamiliar, is an anti-virus program that monitors internet traffic for baddies. If that was freaking out it could easily have been blocking all 'net traffic. But, this morning it finally went away and all is happy again, so hopefully the same will be true for rosie’s AC.

Well, sometimes AC can be too much of a good thing. I’m currently wearing what amounts to a sweater/coat and still the end of my nose and my toes are turning blue. Oh, it’s hot outside but I spend eight hours inside the ice factory. :frowning:

rifty, I have not heard about the show you are watching. For that matter I haven’t heard about the one all the wimmins in my office are watching…Project Runway. They say it’s really good but, I dunno, I’m just not all that into fashion. :stuck_out_tongue:

<wipes away tears from laughing so hard>

Ya think?

It explains so much about me–my finding porn boring (I always wonder–what brought them together? Surely not just pizza/plumbing problem/undone homework…between that an nursing–aka seeing more naked bodies than I ever wanted to–porn is a washout for moi).

But I digress.

With Mika --I can work up a 6’2" guy, black hair, blue eyes, devil may care look combined with the way Colin Firth looked at Bridget Jones (or was it what’s her name in Love Actually?) all melty and desirous…nummers. We’ll go to dinner and he’ll be both witty and amusing and intelligent and sexy as hell. We’ll flirt outrageously with one another and then --well, you all can finish this. Modesty forbids and all that.

I don’t understand swampy’s job. I thought I did, but now he is developing cleaning devices for the underserved. I’m confused. Last week, he dabbled in dangerous sharps activities–what’s next? Sky dumpster diving? (hee).
It’s farging hot AGAIN. And today I can’t put off the laundry any more. Damn. I feel for spats, outside in the Flawduh heat with PVC piping and a circle (that sounds like some kind of strange, ancient ritual–maybe you should hook up with swampus’s mops).
Stay cool, Cool Kids!

Blond. I’ve dated dark-haired men all my life. Wait, let me think - nope, all dark-haired men. It’s about time I got to run my fingers through some silky hair.

One more bit of news re the apartment: We have not found Mr. Humungous Centipede. I bet he crawled down the drain. I am still looking for him, the sumbitch. I bet he comes out of that spooky cellar.

We’re watching it too, when we remember to. It’s on opposite Last Conic Standing, which Wifey is addicted to. But we watched it last night, and recorded Comic. I quite like it, except for the Sheriff’s daughter, who’s a PITA. I also like Dead Like Me which preceeds it, except that I’ve missed too much of the backstory.

BTW, if you need a free anti-virus program, take a look at AVG by Grisoft, I’ve got it on 2 of our computers and it works very well.

I’m not slacking Bobbio, I’ll have you know it’s on 8:35 am right now. Actually, I was up at around 4:30 am, but I decided to hell with that noise! I’m on vacation and I deserve to sleep a little.

Temps around here are still reasonable, yay! I think today’s high is supposed to close to 80.

I need some coffee! Yes! That’s what I need! Off to make some coffee!

Mika, as I read about your problems with Mr. H. Centipede and your garden plans, it occurrs to me to advise you of something. You will need to purchase gardening gloves. *Before * gardening commences. Trust me on this one; I dislike crawly things and I enjoy gardening – I am the Voice of Experience (on this topic). What’s worse than seeing crawly yuck things near you? *Not * seeing crawly yuck things, and touching them. Ick. I just gave myself the creeps.

Darling, I already have them. Even though I only have a balcony garden, I still get the occasional creepy crawly. No worries there!

5 exclamation points in one post and you still think you need coffee?
