Dairy Wars - A Milky Morning Post

LiLi you need one of your husbands around today to bring you tea, ice cream and cookies, to make sure your pillow is fluffed and your knee is resting comfortably. Plus, do what ever chores you see need doing.

I have a confession to make. I have two sock drawers. Ok, three. One is for dress socks that I’m currently wearing. One is for the socks I buy to replace the current dress socks when they get to worn out. The third is for white socks. It contains both old and new white socks, cause, well, white socks just don’t care. Yes, I buy new socks when they are on sale whether I need to or not. That way, I have socks when I need socks. It’s perfectly normal. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

Rigs my job is indeed varied. I like it that way. Except I need to dives myself of some of my self-imposed job duties that others could do. Hence, the sorta job restructuring thing I’m working on. Besides, there are some new projects I’d like to get started.

Morning! My hiney is all pink. Went to the tanning salon last night and did the bed totally nekkit this time. Since I’ve never nude sunbathed before, what was lily white is now :o . I go again on Saturday. Do I get the TMI this week?

kai, you are right on the money. I tried to google image the haircut but got nothing. Apparently the skaters have moved on to the new millennium.

li-li, hope the knee feels better soon.

rigs, it’s probably nothing about you. I’ve found when friends go incommunicado, it’s usually because something else not good is going on in their lives and they just don’t feel like talking about it or burdening their friends. YMMV

meeks, great digs. Mucho potential. Great yard. Is that all yours?

fcm, fingers crossed on the boat.

bear, shall we start calling you Mop Man?

Tupug

The entire area that is shown, yes. You can barely see a chair on the right hand side. That is the limit. And there’s also stuff along the side of the house, where I’m looking to plant flowers.

Back later, but I hate socks and I hate my SO’s socks. I have maybe 4 or 5 pairs. He has probably 4 or 5 HUNDRED, or at least that’s what it seems to me. ANd they end up everywhere. And he never puts them in the laundry. And he never unrolls them. I tried for a long time, but now I just tell him - if they’re not in the laundry, I’m not looking for them and you don’t get clean socks.

Attacks Husband has already volunteered to come over after work and make dinner, fluff pillows, and entertain me. I love Attacks Husband. He’s definitely one of the best of my Husbands. Mr. Lissar watched me hobbling around at six this morning, and told me firmly that I was not going to work, and I should spend the day on the couch eating bonbons. I love him, too.

Spats, Mr. Lissar is probably right now telling your small medium at large joke to some poor sucker. You have very similar senses of humour. So do Attacks Husband and Driving Husband. Lord help me.
Mika, your new place looks great! Picante will love it for sure.
Does anyone know how to make pupusas? I might try later. I can stand and hobbly, so I’m going to do some tidying in between eating chocolate almonds.

Good Morning. It’s another scorcher today, I’m glad I’m working inside.

Wiki, If you want cotton photos, you could get this poster

swampy I have one sock drawer. Half is black work socks, half is white socks.

LiLi get better soon.

And by “thin the herd,” you mean, “catch, spay, and release,” right? Right???

**Jah ** - glad to hear how well you’re doing. I have a family member with some similar issues, and I hope to someday hear the same sentiments from her.

**Lissla ** - be very gentle with yourself. Even if you feel like to can you move around, go easy. It’s OK not to get the housework done today!

Well, my first instinct is to quit providing them free food and shelter, hoping they’ll go somewhere else. I don’t want to do them all in, because I basically live on a farm, and there’s vermin to be considered.

EXCEPT for the one who came after me last night. I’m truly concerned it has rabies or something equally oogie. I leave the fate of that one as an exercise to the reader.

This is something I’ll never understand - in the winter, everyone wants the office to be 80 degrees, but heaven help you if it’s 80 in the summer - then it has to be 65!! People are weird! Yesterday, I actually had to put on my office jacket thing because I got a chill. Then at the end of the day, I doffed it and went out into the sauna that was Dahlgren. Insanity!!

For the record, my house is 78 right now. In the winter, it’s kept in the mid 60s.

Good news - my a/c stayed on all night (after two trips to the breaker box)

This drives me bat shit crazy. What is wrong with people that it has to be colder in the office in the summer when we’re wearing lighter clothing than in the winter when we wear heavier clothing?? Gah! It’s so bad here sometimes that a couple people have heaters under their desks. Do the managers/owners/whoever not get that they’re wasting money by cooling it so much that people have to then use even more electricity to heat the place??

I have adapted to the office temperature problems though: the answer is to dress like a man. If you wear pants, sock, shoes, and long-sleeved shirts like the men do, you’re not cold. If you try to be girly and wear skirts, sandals, and sleeveless shirts, you’ll freeze. At least that’s how it is for me.

Cool new apartment, mika. And the drive to work shouldn’t be too much worse than it used to be.

See, he thinks he needs to have 5 hundred socks because there are never any clean ones! So instead of putting them in the laundry, he just buys new ones. Makes perfect sense.

Hope your knee feels better LiLi. And take advantage of all those husbands! Wait… that didn’t quite sound right. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m off tomorrow. If I don’t make it back here today, have a good weekend everyone!

Meeks I like your neighborhood-to-be! It looks like Sesame Street. I love the brick everywhere. I have a thing for brick. I love institutional architecture, and your building puts me in mind of that. I hope you’re happy there, with your ginormous bathroom!

Speaking of vermin, we had Terminex spray for the ants, which was supposed to kill the    CENTIPEDES    too. But I caught one of the bastards in my bathroom this morning. I hate them. They are so furitive and leggie and disgusting! Spiders, fine. Live and let live. Centipedes are oooogie.

I have finished my email newsletter, and it doesn’t go out until 3 pm tomorrow! La!

what she said …

Add me to FCM’s sentiment.

taxi, :D. Never thought of that. And you’ve met him…you know what a neat and clean guy he is. He just has this predilection with socks I don’t get.

Ellen, Centipedes run so damn fast, too. And I always see them when I don’t have my glasses on or contacts in, it seems. In the shower, for example. squint What is that thing? And then they run! And I scream.

And I like the brick, too. I despise aluminum siding.

The thermostat at work is set on 74. Woe betide the soul that dares to adjust it up or down. 74 is comfy. Well, except for one person who is cold no matter what the thermostat is set on. Her we tell to keep a sweater handy. I think she has penguin ancestors.

I’m looking at what I’ve done with this hear job description thingy. It looks good. My boss will buy whatever I do which is good. I’ma put it aside for a while now and go back and give it two or three more thorough reads. Knowing me I’ll change stuff each time. The end job will be, however, perfection.

I’m not mopman today. No mops in the forecast for today. YAY!!! There are however boxes of boxes abounding. I keep walkin’ by ‘em and thinkin’ how dumb!

I like it at less than 20C all year round, and I wear tank tops as soon as it hits 17 or 18. Someone else do the math. I like it cold. I think people set the a/c so low so that it will be refreshingly cool. I personally like it, but I’d melt in 80F in winter. Yuck.
Centipedes are demon-bugs. I hate them. They should all die. They’re not native to Canada, and they’ll die in cold. Attacks Husband and I propose to burn down all of Toronto in mid-winter, and live in chilly tents for a couple of months. That should finish them. Driving Husband and Mr. Lissar say that they should be killed when sighted, but otherwise left for the cats to play with (kill).
A long time ago, in a fake household advice thread, someone said the best way to keep pets off tables and counters was to wet the counter with lighter fluid, say “No!” in a loud, authoritative voice, and then light it. I occasionally think about it as a centipede control strategy.

Whatever our thermostat at home is set on, we need to turn it up a little–today’s discovery is that this month’s electric bill is $386. We need to seriously consider whether watching TV with blankies in the evening is worth the price.

I don’t want to work today. I’m fairly confident I won’t want to work tomorrow, either. I did, however, find an unexpected $75 tax rebate in my bank account this morning when I went to pay the electric bill, so that’s nice. I’m going to go to the bookstore at lunch and spend it on trashy escapist romancey novels (but nothing with people on the cover–I have limits). I believe I might also have a personal shopping day coming to me, so woohoo discount!

Good morning everyone!

I was up at 3:30 this morning, but I ended going back to bed at 4:30. I thought to myself, “This is insane! I’m going to bed for three hours”. Unfortunately, it turned out to be more than three hours. I just woke up about 40 minutes ago. I hate when I do that.

The AC in my office is cold 365 days a year. Sometimes we can trick it by putting a damp paper towel on the sensor, but it doesn’t work very often. So, I sit there with a jacket or sweater handy at all TIMES.

Li-Li, I hope your knee returns to normal very soon. In the meantime, let all the hubbies spoil you. It is their role in life to do this. I have decreed it!

I have a lot to do today; again. I need to run some errands (including buying the socks), and continue on with the cleaning. Additionally, I need to buy some groceries for the house/dog sitter. I may just wait until tomorrow to buy the groceries. She loves fruit, so I want it to be as fresh as possible.

Plus it’s rural North Cacalacky. They just seem to come into existence there spontaneously.

rose if your circuit breaker keeps tripping, there is a problem somewhere in that line. You are either drawing too much current for that circuit (which could lead to damage to the equipment plugged in there (minor problem) to an electrical fire (major problem)), or that circuit breaker is damaged and needs to be replaced. Reshutting a breaker more than once without checking on the cause of it tripping repeatedly leads to trouble. You really should have someone who knows about this stuff check it out.

What else is on the circuit besides the AC? If if you have a buttload of lights or something, maybe you can shut it off and save the breaker.

Or you could call an electrician. You might even get a date…

Muhahaha … my work here is [del]never[/del] done.

Centipedes don’t bother me more than any other bug, really. My policy for all insects is that if it’s not crawling on me, it’s fine. If it is crawling on me, it’s dead.
