France is setting up an alternative to the BBC news service, called France24.com. But dammit, guys, you put the newsticker at the bottom of the screen, not over the presenter’s breasts!
Seems to me it is a hang up of the TV era: the bar is located in the “safe” viewing area for broadcasting and many video editors instinctively do not step out of the area, of course since this is a web transmission I think they are being ridiculously safe or still want to have the chance to show the footage on regular TV.
