Dammit, Janet! Reno on SNL

As a passionate moderate, I have to say that until Saturday night I was no fan of Janet Reno’s. And I still have to say that there are a few decisions she made as Attorney General that I disagreed with.
But after her appearance on Saturday Night Live in the “Janet Reno’s Dance Party” skit, I have to say that Janet Rocks! My girlfriend and I were rolling on the floor. About 5 seconds before Janet appeared I made the remark that I could imagine her actually appearing on the show.

Somehow I doubt we’ll ever see John Ashcroft on SNL in person. In lots of skits, yes, in person, no.

I think this should be in the pit. When I come into MPSIMS, I don’t expect to find anything as disturbing as this.

Damn, I’m sorry I missed that one. Only thing that could have made it more perfect would have been if the Offspring could have been the musical guests.

The funniest part of SNL nowadays is when the real life counterpart does a walk on to confront the person playing him or her.

It was funny, but I can’t say that it changed my opinion of her.

I thought it was totally hysterical - and what else did she really have lined up to do on Dubya’s Inauguration Day night anyway…

D’you think the SNL player is expecting the walk-on or is it a surprise? I feel like I’ve seen the players almost come out of character when this happens.

For security reasons, I don’t think anybody except the on-stage producer can know about cabinet members coming on stage.

To be sucessful, an assasin needs to be prepared. I am sure the secret service wants everybody in the building to be unprepared for such cameos.

It sure looked like Will Ferrell and everybody else in the skit expected this. I saw no surprised looks, and the skit sure as hell wasn’t going anywhere. I do think it’s cool that Reno could laugh at herself like that, but one TV report I saw reported that her staffers had to talk her into it (don’t remember which network).

Bob Dole did a much better cameo.
