I just heard this on the radio, but don’t have any other source at the moment. Look for a “Hilary” vs Sarah segment would be my guess.
My guess is that they have Tina Fey make a cold opener guest appearance as Sarah Palin.

I hope so too, if only for the reason that, on the funny scale:
Sarah Palin as herself < Tina Fey as Sarah Palin.
Only rarely, IMO, has the actual politician’s appearance increased the humor over a good impersonation (exceptions: John McCain’s guest hosting, Mike Huckabee on Weekend Update overstaying his welcome).
My guess is that the host will be Michael Palin, and in his monologue he will reminisce about his days as mayor of Wasilla, etc.
I might actually watch if it were Sarah Palin hosting SNL. SNL sucks, and hasn’t been funny in decades, but that might be worth watching.
I thought the season opener host was supposed to be Michael Phelps, and the musical guest was one of his rap favorites?
Throw in a Sarah Palin walkon and we’ve got the makings of a skit that’ll be a disaster of epic proportions, here.
Especially if her water breaks during the sketch

Well, it’s true that SNL sucks most of the time but that’s hitting below the belt.
The episode where Giuliani hosted was actually hilarious, as I recall. He really got into the comedy.
Ah, yes, I’d forgotten about Giuliani. I’m glad he did it, if only as a setup for his appearance blaming SNL for losing out on the Republican nomination.
There have only been 4 or 5 mayors of New York since SNL debuted and two of them have hosted.

Based on the specific photos chosen, Fey was the closest match.
However, if one of them were to actually play Palin in a comedy sketch, I think Megan Mullally would do the best job.
Wouldn’t it be funny if they said Palin was going to be on the show, and they had an opener with “Michael Palin” starring instead?
