I put this up there with “How r u?” as a sure way to have me ignore you. I automatically ignore ICQ messages or IMs that stray too far from standard English. Possible typos get benefit of the doubt, but net-shorthand is only worth the effort to hit the delete button.

The first time I saw A/S/L in a Yahoo poolroom I had never seen that shorthand before and I thought the guy was calling me a name.
