In this thread I asked about a MAD magazine CD-Rom and where I might acquire one. From the responses given it seemed that my best hope would be E-bay.
However, last Tuesday I was helping my dad set up for the library book sale when I spied the familiar image of America’s Favorite Idiot, Alfred E. Neuman, smiling up at me idiotically.
There it was!!! The Fabled 7-CD-Rom set that I had asked about on the SDMB!!! Mine for the taking!!!
I asked my dad if I could take it and he said sure, that he’d put in a few dollars for me later.
Then, on Thursday, he said, “How much do you really want that MAD CD-Rom?”
When a parent says that, you know that the battle has already been lost, as they will appeal to your better nature and sense of morality.
“Well,” I said, "I asked about it on the SDMB and they said I would have to get it on E-bay, why?"
“Because there is a guy who joined the library association specifically because he had come to the book sale and seen the MAD CD-Rom and was going to buy it.”
So, did I give in? Did I let my better nature take something away from me yet again?
You better fucking believe it!!! :smack: :smack: :smack: :wally
Sometimes I well and truly hate myself for having been raised with a well and true sense of right and wrong and manners and proper etiquette.
