Damned Song Is Driving Me Nuts!

. . . and I used to have the LP. Might still. Every time I went to chuck it into the thrift store box I’d think of the torture I mean historical potential and keep it. But it might not have survived the last move.

“. . .there is just one moon and one golden sun. . .”

I heard this on a radio show one day.
Something GUARANTEED to chase that annoying song out of your head:

Michelle, ma belle.
These are words that go together well,
My Michelle.

Michelle, ma belle.
Sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble,
Tres bien ensemble.
Sorry

My name is Sellama, I am a were-Llama
I’m cursed every night by the beast I become.
I trade hands for feet, my curse is complete,
you can’t play castanets without thumbs!

I sang one song as Elmer Fudd, replacing all the Ls and Rs with Ws, and now every song that goes through my mind is translated like that. It’s vewy annoying!

I watched Hatari the other night. John Wayne, Red Buttons and a mostly otherwise forgettable cast live capturing African animals for zoos – seriously un-PC!

Now I have the “Baby Elephant Walk” permanently burned into my brain…

Alright! New song for today, and it’s a killer!

*I got a gypsy woman
Givin’ me advice
I got a gypsy woman
Givin’ me advice
I got a whole lotta tricks
Keepin’ her on ice

Got my mojo workin’!
Got my mojo workin’!
Got my mojo workin’!
Got my mojo workin’!
Got my mojo workin’
but it just don’t work on you

Lay it on me, suh!*

Despite rumors which you may have heard to the contrary, Muddy Waters is god.

Magical Trevor.

Stuck in my head for two days straight last week. Sometimes the threads on this board are traps that one must learn to avoid, such as the Ever-so-clever Magical Trevor! Look at him now disappearing a cow,…duh dum de dumm…

OH NO!

It’s happening again!

AAAHHHHH!!!

I think the last time it happened to me, it was You Are My Sunshine. Damned song.

Ah yes, the good ol’ Belleville Rendez-Vous! That song gets stuck in my head every time I see a post by bienville…my brain turns it into “Belleville” and off it goes… {sigh}

I don’t know the words, either, so I just hear the same 8 measures over and over. Apparently, though, the soundtrack includes a version in English.

I promise you all that besides having this stuck in my head, this song is following me. I’ve heard it on the radio, on hold music, at the grocer, at the bowling alley and at a bar, all in the last week.

There was something in the air that night…Fernando…

My tendency, when songs get stuck in my head, is to sing parts of them out loud. Over and over. Often without realizing it until it’s too late. In the 40 minutes since I last posted in this thread, the song Crazy 'Bout Ya (by Cowboy Mouth) has gotten stuck in my head…I think my officemate is starting to wonder if I have a crush on her…

I have In The Flesh by Pink Floyd stuck in my head, mainly from “Are there any queers in the theatre tonight?”

Sesame Street right???

“One of these kids is doing their own thing… one of these kids does not belong…”

Shit. Now I have that in my head.

Subway has been using that tune (without the words) in their most recent ads. Maybe that’s where you picked it up.

Aha! Google is my friend. Found the lyrics for the Triplets of Belleville at the Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film - review .

Looks like I had picked up about 1/3 of the refrain.

And I’m not posting the lyrics hoping to get the song going in other peoples heads. Really.

This may not ring for everyone. Just those who’ve been to the Animation Festival. At least every year I went in La Jolla in the early '90s
“But, the cat came back. We thought he was a goner, but the cat came back.” Its been in my head on and off since I last heard it in 1993!

A good way to get rid of a song stuck in your head is to sing it.

However, if that song is Christianity Is Stupid by Negativland, be careful of where you sing it.

A few days ago I learned that Joan Jett and The Blackhearts were coming to Cornfest, and since then I’ve had “Love Is a Battlefield” going through my head.

Of course, “LIaB” was not Joan Jett, but Pat Benatar. Still stuck in my head.

This is the song that doesn’t end…

That’s a great song for hiking with children. Switch off with the “The ants go marching”. (which can also get stuck in your head)

Thanks to Jenaroph’s post in this thread, I’ve had The Cat Came Back stuck in my brain for about a week now.

Please make it stop… :smack:
