I am getting so annoyed with people saying that Clay did not deserve to win and then acting like Ruben won by a lanslide! It was anything but a lanslide, 50.28 to a very very close 49.78. I think this shows that both were great and both were loved by America, it basically came down to which fans had the quickest dialing fingers. I admit that I really like Clay and was rooting for him, but to say that he was not as talented as Ruben is just not right IMHO:D

I think they both deserved to win. As I stated in another thread, I was delighted that Ruben won (as I’m from Birmingham, it did my heart good to see a “hometown boy make good”) but my heart just broke for Clay. This was one time I’d have been overjoyed with a tie. I was going, “Go Ruben!” every time they showed him, and then in the same breath, hollering, “Go Clay!” I’m not usually like this…I always have a preference.
I really think Clay was the better singer, but they were both so different in their talents that it was difficult to compare them. Sometimes Ruben came off looking ten times better than Clay, and then the other times Clay was clearly his superior.
The real “winner” will be who sells the most records, as both of their albums will be released the same week (or at least that’s what I thought I heard Simon say).
Actually, both of them are going to be stars, so I guess it doesn’t really matter who won American Idol. They both have it made.
OK, did anyone else open this expecting to read that Stephen Spielberg was making another Haley Joel Osmet robot movie?
I wonder why it matters. What did Ruben get that Clay didn’t? A record contract? Nope, Clay got one too. A tour? Same deal.
What’s the point of winning?

If things go as they did last season, we’ll hear Ruben on the radio frequently and Clay not at all. On the other hand, that could have been the deal with Justin and Kelly just because the voting was not as close.
I absolutely did, and I was all ready to write a bitchy, indignant post about how sucky and tiresome the first one was.
So this is kind of anticlimactic for me.

I was so relieved when I read the OP. Judging by the thread title, I thought someone had gotten the bright idea to make a sequel to “Artificial Intelligence”. Picture my relief when I found out it wasn’t that at all.
l heard a song song by Ruben on the radio today, it was only ok, I wonder if they are going to play a song by clay as well?

It’s a good thing they’re not making a sequel. Spielberg went too far on AI. (Oh, how I wish the movie would have ended while Osmet was trapped under water!)
