Logic does not belong to me exclusively. It is still illogical to ignore that Torture does not work in general, some times torturers can make it work, but it is a crap shoot, made more so because many times there are leaders abusing power. It leads to torturers that are primed to get false information that supports a dictator’s narrative.
It is then illogical to think that just demonstrating one example of torture working that therefore: torture works.
And the Damury logic seen now is only showing that for him it is logical to ignore new research and evidence that shows that a few papers that did not have better data does not make them the final word in a subject.

Can you refresh my memory? I think intelligence is heritable but I don’t recall thinking this was due to race. But maybe i have blocked out my former racist notions. Can you provide a link to me saying that there is the same level of scientific evidence that one race is genetically less intelligent than another as there is for AGW?

I think you you read that post in the context of the thread, it still looks pretty bad.
I don’t think I held these views for very long but I might be mistaken.
I did not understand how certain the science was on AGW until you pointed it out.
It is clear that I did in fact subscribe to the notion that at least some of the differences in iq between racial groups could be explained by genetic differences between the groups.
All I can say is that a lot has happened in the last 7+ years. My thinking has evolved. I had been influenced by things like this wiki entry (Race and intelligence - Wikipedia) into a “both sides have their merits” sort of position and failed to recognize that you cannot adopt a neutral stance on this issue when the harm of believing in the differences in iq are due to genetics is so very great and the cost of assuming the opposite are so negligible, the burden of proof should not fall equally on both positions. One side has a fairly high burden of proof while the other does not. So I now believe that absent some compelling proof of that genetic differences are the source of significant differences in IQ, it is societally and policy-wise a better answer to assume that these genetic differences do not exist.
If you think I’m being too easy on myself on this point, please continue to roast me, I won’t fight back. I thought you had confused my statements about the scientific consensus about agw and the equally high consensus about the validity of testing.
