dance music for dancing

Is there anything on this entire plant more fucking useless than dance music recordings where the conductor decides it’s time to make this piece “his own”? Fucking tempo changes, retards, and my personal favorite, the false ending. Why do they do this? Don’t they think, when it’s a recording of Chopin’s Best Known Waltzes that somebody might want to …ya’know…dance to one of them? I can understand not wanting to do every song in straight time, as that would bore the people who bought it just to listen to, but could there be one or two that are danceable? Please? In the last eight weeks I’ve gone through every library within three counties and while there’s plenty orchestral recording of waltzes, tangos and polkas there sure aren’t many useful ones. Grrrrr!

And the same goes for disco. Damn, I hate remixes of a really great tune.
