Always love seeing Twitch – which is actually pretty regularly. Glad he’s getting not just work, but work on national TV.
Good for Andy for lasting as long as he did. His decision to be on the show was about rehabilitating his image, and his efforts went a very long way toward doing that.
I don’t watch this show but I do kinda keep up with pop culture. My parents are devoted followers and just LOVED Andy Dick. I’ve heard of his trials and tribulations. Sounds like he is, again, in recovery and they just loved him.
Andy Dick was very entertaining. He couldn’t dance a lick - Bless his heart - but I enjoyed him.
A few seasons ago they featured Carson Presley as the non-dancer with “personality” and he kind of grated. I’d enjoy it if they kept Andy around in the same capacity.
I enjoyed the dances with the two pros the best. That idea always works out really well.
Aly is steadily improving week by week. I’m impressed with her willingness to play characters. Zendaya and Val were excellent as usual. I’ll be surprised if our football player win this season. Jacoby is good but he’s not at Zendaya or Aly’s skill level. I’m not sure where Pickler fits. She’s good too.
Ingo may have hurt his chances with the whining and temper in this weeks rehearsals. A shame because he is marginally better than Sean.
I’m bored with the season. Not really rooting for anyone and it’s making me more critical than I’d otherwise be.
But, in short -
Zendaya was good, but (and this is minor) looked really angular during the fox trot. But still the best dancer left.
Sean is not good.
Jacoby keeps breaking out of the dance, usually right before he jumps over someone’s head (which seems to happen a lot), but also other times when he’s going from one segment of the dance to another. He stops dancing, moves to another position, and starts dancing again. It bothers me. Also, my favorite pasos really use the music. His was just kind of frantic. Actually, for that matter, so was the waltz.
I’m assuming that in ballroom competitions, judges love the 50’s nerd character. I really, really don’t. But it was better than Sean.
I like the idea of connecting the first and second dances. Too much fog in both, who knows what the hell she was doing.
Aly seems like she’s a very nice girl with very little musicality. It completely shows that she doesn’t really get what counting’s for. She doesn’t finish her movements (which surprises me because tumbling routines generally look sharp) and doesn’t really understand what the character of the dance is either or how to portray it. But she is generally where she’s supposed to be most of the time…almost.
I agree with your assessments. Jacoby’s turned in feet and his general inability to use them will do him in - but my fingers are crossed that Sean goes tonight.
Jacoby needs to stop with the jumping over people’s heads. It was clever and cool the first time, but now he throws it in every dance just to show he can do it.
Zendaya’s foxtrot was crisp and sweet and I loved it. I’m so impressed with that girl.
Sean and Ingo need to go home - I don’t care what order they go in.
Aly just isn’t a pretty dancer. Technically she’s good, but she’s just too stocky, too powerfully built to be elegant.
I like Kellie, but I don’t think she’s the caliber of Zendaya. I think if Z had Derek as a coach, she’d be unbeatable. If she could stand up to his training techniques. He’s sort of brutal.
Yeah, all season long, they’ve said the final three aren’t necessarily the bottom three, but the last two were. Then this week they worded it as tangent said.
Semi-final had some really good dances tonight. Most of the twitter challenge dances went well. The Afo-jazz dance seemed a bit out of place. I’m sure Mark was well intentioned but those costumes came pretty close to parody. I hope that style of dance isn’t repeated on the show again.
This was the first hip hop dance that I actually liked. There were no wild jumping moves onto the floor. No head stands or twirls. No tricks hardly at all. Just really good dancing with attitude. I never thought I’d like hip hop. But Zendaya put together a very entertaining routine.
Ingo is clearly the weakest and needs to be eliminated. I really can’t pick between Aly, Pickler, Zendaya and Jacoby. I like them all equally.
I gave most of my votes to Jacoby. I’m pretty sure the three women have strong fan bases. Ingo has that soap fan base and it might carry him past Jacoby.
I really don’t understand how Aly is getting 10s. She is not in the same league as Kelly or Zen. Maybe more equal to Jacoby, but even between those two, he is much more enjoyable to watch.
Ingo is definitely out of place now. Several places below everyone else.
