Dancing with the Stars -- DWTS -- Spring 2013

Well I guess a cyst on the spine is different than the ones you get under the skin. Cysts can be painful but usually not a big deal after they are lanced.

Darn, I was so looking forward to seeing Dorothy. But, it wasn’t meant to be.

Wow all I can say is I’ll really miss Dorothy, I just knew that she wanted to compete so badly but the injury held her back big time. if she was at her best I believe she would have been top 3 or 4

As for the rest of the night WAY to GO ZEN getting the encore. The girl deserved it, and finally we have a Disney kid who doesn’t need to be propped up by scores because of lack of fanbase. She gets the scores because she deserves them and apparently she has a lot of support

And to the naysayers a big FU DL did it! he would have needed a Shitload of votes to overcome 6 points and he got there. very impressed by the support

Andy’s not so bad. He and Eric Roberts must be friends.

I loved Derek and Kellie and Jacoby was fantastic this week. Poor Dorothy. I had high hopes for her.

I’m glad DL got saved – big turnaround on his attitude this week.

I’m surprised Wynona got through – guess that must be her fan base, 'cause it sure ain’t her glacially paced dancing. Please god, don’t let her outlast Master P, who was eliminated fourth.

I am glad that Wynonna was not the first to go. If Kirstie Alley can go all the way, so can Wy!
God bless you and her and Kirstie always!!!

Ugh, Wynona has a huge fanbase. She’s the Billy Ray Cyrus of season 16 - as far as DL is concerned I’m one of those who didn’t think much of his first dance, but damn, the judges were harsh, gave him nothing constructive no wonder he’s frustrated. Hell with it, time to send the producers and the judges a memo. DL stays.

As hard as it might be to believe, Kirstie was 100X the dance that Wy has shown herself to be at this point.

^^^ Wynonna is only two dances into her first time on the show when Kirstie has been on the show twice. To me, its a little early to say who is better.
God bless you and them always!!!

I feel badly for Dorothy having to bow out. Then I remember what happened with Jennifer Grey during her season :shudder:

Just caught up on the last two weeks of DWTS on my DVR.

Zendaya is pretty awesome. Definitely the one to beat.

Pickler is better than I expected.

Aly Raisman is kind of awkward on camera, and her voice is really annoying. And I dislike Mark, so I’m definitely rooting against this team.

Andy Dick seems pretty humble and earnest so far. I hope he sticks around awhile. Mainly because I have a crush on his partner, Sharna. Wow!

betting odds from Bodog heading into week 3

Zendaya and Val 7/4
Kellie and Derek 5/2
Jacoby and Karina 4/1
Aly and Mark 5/1
Ingo and Kim 16/1
Sean and Peta 16/1
Wynonna and Tony 75/1
Andy and Sharna 75/1
DL and Cheryl 75/1
Victor and Lindsay 75/1
Lisa and Greb 100/1

I think Kirstie was better off the top her first season she was surprisingly nimble, musical and up tempo on her very first Cha Cha. I still think of that dance whenever I hear Ceelo Green’s Forget You

Prom night dances were pretty bad for DL, Wynonna, and Andy. I know they said Andy had the most time in rehearsal but he’s quickly turning into Carson. Carson logged a lot of rehearsal time too and still couldn’t dance.

Lisa improved a lot this week. Not a great dance, but I think she deserves another couple weeks on the show.

I’m glad they showed Zendaya struggling and falling in rehearsal. She’s so good that some people might think it comes too easily. But, she needs a lot of rehearsal time just like everyone else.

Jacoby dances well and his personality seems better this week. He’s less cocky and he let his humor show through.

I really loved Zendaya tonight, we finally got to see in 16 seasons what a Viennese Waltz at tempo is supposed to look like. Val looked like a Count from Austria, I mean they just got it all right, from the prop to the costumes to the dancing. Well done. I’m so enthralled with her progress. A celebrity who really dances, not just pretends to!

Aly well, I liked her dress, very pretty color but she is built powerfully and unfortunately ballroom gowns don’t really do her justice. Also, I think we can see a real contrast in the dancing between her and Zendaya. Where Aly “places” the movement, Zendaya fills the space with genuine emotion.

Kellie, well to be fair she looked the terrific. But her dancing for me was a little slow, she was a little behind the beat at times, her flicka kicks weren’t on pointe, and I saw a lot of fluff/tricks instead of full on dancing. Derek is a great dancer, but really did he need to slide down the stairs wasting 15 sec of music while Kellie sat in the audience? Yes everyone does their little showboating, but they include the celebrity.
Victor was really in earnest tonight and I enjoyed it. I’m not sure if he’s got the votes but he worked hard this week.

Wynnona can’t get much worse. There was an attempt at a few Samba steps and it was pittiful.

DL well he can really rub people the wrong way, but he is making tiny baby steps in progress.

On the other hand was there any Cha Cha in Andy’s dance?

Sean well he’s not a dancer but YMCA always gets the crowd happy.

Ingo yeah, the intent was there but not the execution. His arms were particularly weak, it definitely deflated the spanish line. Yet, I think he’s better than Sean, who really looks mechanical out there.

Jacoby did some nice moves on that Rumba/lyrical contemporary fusion. And I did see nice sliding doors and nice cucarachas, excellent hip action, but a lot of it was “emoting” See there’s lots of Contemporary on this show, they just call it Rumba.

Oh and Lisa, I always seem to forget her. Well it wasn’t bad, her dress was goregous, but she really needs to open out her frame, she was dancing small and missed some key turning sections.

Top three are Zendaya, Jacoby, and really I thought Aly was a tad underscored. Kellie was overscored.
Bottom three Wynonna, DL and probably Andy… but who knows what the fanbases will say.

That group dance at the beginning seemed a bit…under-rehearsed.

I hope Wynonna goes, but she probably has too many fans to get the boot this early.

Yeah, we’re stuck with Wynona for several weeks, anyway. Maybe they could tape her dances in advance and then run them at double speed so it looks like she’s actually dancing? Poor Tony.

I gave my votes to Andy, Victor, and DL, all for having a good attitude.

Betting DL goes, but there are 5 or so that are awful and it’s just a matter of when the go. Wy was a little better than the last 2 dances, but is still awful.

Standing still looks about the same at any speed!

I may not like DL’s dancing, but his wisecracks are great. “Where I’m from, we hope the judge gives you a low number.” “I’m glad felons are allowed to vote!”

Bruno jumping in on “YMCA” made me laugh.

I’m so glad Wynonna is gone. I am a big fan of the Judds. I’m not sure what her problem was. She just wasn’t willing to throw herself into the experience. I always got the feeling Wynonna was holding back. Yes she’s a big woman and she’s middle aged, but she could still fling her hair around, move those arms. Just do something besides stand out there like a mannequin.

I think it came down to her worrying too much about looking silly. She just couldn’t put that aside and go for it.
