I’m always amazed how much the dancing improves when an extra pro is added to a team. Adding two pros made an even better improvement.
I need to rewatch before I can say much else. All these great dances are a blur right now.

It was shocking to hear them say that the season was half over - we’ve only lost 2 people. Are they going to do mass eliminations later?
And having the gymnast do tumbling runs - bleh.
I really loved Val’s choreography last night. I was wondering how he was going to bring the sexy required for Argentine Tango without being steamy. It was sharp, great footwork, strong lifts… Loved the Jewel thief theme and the music from Sherlock Holmes was so victorian cool with a modern twist. Zendaya can sell a dance like nobody’s business. Whomever said she looked like a baby Catherine Zeta Jones was on the money. The pros were great, loved Anna and Maks dancing both in this one and the Jive with Jacoby.
Jacoby is so flexible. I can’t believe how easily he does those lunging splits. Then he jumps over Karina like she’s 3 ft tall. He’s one heck of an athlete.
I’m glad Victor did better this week. Working with Tristan seemed to help him. Three seven’s is pretty good for Victor I hope it was enough to get him through this weeks elimination.
I liked Aly better this week. Mark choreographed a more traditional Samba. Interesting that Aly did better when the pros where out there with her. She got a little lost alone.
Any predictions for bottom two tonight?
DL of course should be one of them. Maybe the Soap Opera guy is the other one?
Andy has a pretty good inspirational story going. I’ll be surprised if it’s him. Not a great dancer but he didn’t totally suck this week.
Looks like Andy is building a fan base. People love a redemption story. I hope he can keep it up after the show ends.
DL has to be relieved that it’s over. I never thought dancing was his thing. Rehearsals seemed pretty tense with Cheryl.
Victor seems to feel the same way. I’m glad for Lindsay that the fans are supporting them. He may last another week or two. Probably no more than that.
I’d say Victor is next. Good athlete, can’t keep a beat.
For those interested here’s this weeks betting odds
Zendaya Coleman 11/10
Kellie Pickler 2/1
Jacoby Jones 13/4
Aly Raisman 15/2
Sean Lowe 33/1
Ingo Rademacher 75/1
Andy Dick 150/1
Victor Ortiz 200/1
Zendaya is now inching towards the odds on favorite, having held the top position for 4 weeks, and she’s now 11/10 - meaning she has a 47.62% chance of winning. Kellie can still catch her with a 33.33% chance and Jacoby dropped slightly to 23.53% chance. Aly has an 11.76% Sean a 2.94% chance, Ingo a 1.32% Andy .66% and Victor .50% chance of winning.
Next week Team Dances
Team Samba - Kellie, Aly, Sean and Andy
Team Paso - Zendaya, Jacoby, Ingo, Victor
Team Pickler-Dick is doing the Samba.
Louis and Sabrina worked together on this weeks GMA blog.

I agree with Sabrina that Zendaya benefited the most by having a female pro to work with. Anna showed her some feminine moves that Val probably didn’t want to get into. Her parents are always there in rehearsals. Val and Zendaya still kept it age appropriate of course.
Having a 16 year old on the show for me is bringing a new dimension to the choreography. It forces the pro to be creative in a way that they’ve never had to be before, it can’t rely on sexy to sell, and that in itself is pushing the boundries. For example I just loved that part where Zen and Val are side by side in hold and she does that little fast footwork to the music, it’s one of those little movements that is memorable because it fits so well to the idea of deceit and deception, like she’s trying to get away.
Anna is fabulous. I love how she’s really getting huge kudos not only for her incredible dancing but for her work with Zendaya and Kellie this week. Big props.
On that afterbuzz on line show she said she had so much fun she was buzzing about it until 2:30 in the morning. Must have been an ultimate high for her.
Stevie Wonder Week must have been a change to the line up, maybe Stevie was available now so they changed the week to accomodate.
The reason I say that is Team Dances have never been held on week 6. It’s always been week 7 when there’s normally only 6-7 dancers left.
Also Peta had written in her blog that this week the audience gets to tweet what style of dance the celebrities are doing and that didn’t happen. They got prescribed dances this week.
Zendaya and Val Cha Cha Cha
Kellie and Derek Quickstep
Jacoby and Karina Quickstep
Sean and Peta Samba
Aly and Mark Foxtrot
Andy and Sharna ??
Victor and Lindsay ??
Ingo and Kym Tango
This is the first time that I feel we’re seeing a potentially big star on dwts. Zendaya is so incredibly talented. If she continues working this hard she could have a very big career in musical theater. I’ve never felt that way about the younger dwts celebrities before. All the Disney teens are talented but I never thought they’d be the next Liza Minnelli or Joel Grey. A lot can happen to a 16 year old in the next ten years. I hope she does become a major talent.
It’s funny that I don’t see Zendaya as a ringer. It’s clear in rehearsal footage that she’s making mistakes and working hard to learn this new style of dance. Val’s teaching and choreography deserves a lot of credit. I forget that she’s even a hip hop dancer because she’s putting all that aside right now. I can’t fault someone for being talented and doing so well.
Tristan MacManus got engaged! Here he’s pictured with his fiancee Tayhna Tozzi and the rock is pretty darned gorgeous.
Just catching up with this week’s show.
Not sorry to see DL go. Hopefully Victor is next. Andy isn’t that good a dancer, but he’s entertaining and I like Sharna’s choreography. And I like Sharna.
So I hope they stick around a while longer.
I don’t like Sean at all, but I guess he’s got a big fanbase from The Bachelor? Ugh.
Kellie is good and Derek’s choreography is always fun to watch. I’m warming up to Aly, but Mark is still annoying.
Zendaya is amazing. I can’t see any of the other stars actually outdancing her. But I wonder if any of them have enough of a fanbase to get enough votes to beat her in the finals? (Or, heaven forbid, she gets eliminated before the finals).
It was great to see Tristan and Anna back this week. Two of my favorite pros.
The Bachlor guy is just off. It’s like he doesn’t even hear the music. He’ll probably stick around for a few more weeks, but he’s the most painful to watch.
I don’t like Aly at all. Something about her is just plain annoying to me.
Victor is walking thru his dances. It’s like he gave up.
Zendaya, Kellie, and Team Samba were nice.
What was that instrument Little Stevie Wonder was playing?
I, for the first time felt the manipulations by the show’s producers in a big way. I don’t understand that two celebrities with craptastic Samba’s jump from a 6 to a 9 on the same night. It can’t be all that Derek Hough fairy dust. Sure, the Paso wasn’t a lot better, but at least I saw improvement in both Ingo and Victor over their previous Paso efforts.
Moreover, what the hell was up with the dance order? Putting Zendaya in first so they’d forget about her, then put a nicely winded Jacoby on last, but give him just enough time to change his pants and get out there and Paso. Why wasn’t the well rested Team Samba first? We all know the “pimp” spot is the final dance of the night, that’s why.
Also, Kellie Pickler’s dance wasn’t all that. It was rushed, it was very familiar Hough choreography without the illegal lifts, they were out of sync and so far apart in dance position all the way through that you could drive a big ol’ John Deere between 'em. Nicole Scherzinger and LilKim got notes about dancing too far apart on the Ballroom Standards, but somehow Len has amnesia when it comes to the dancing Dickler.
But all was not lost, Zendaya did a snap crackle pop of a Cha Cha Cha. Why it didn’t get a 30 is beyond me.
