That is all.
Damn, totally forgot about this. How’d they do?
sPOILERJohn and Charlotta had a slow start, not a great Latin, which isn’t their best category. Kelly and Alex beat them there. But they had an incredible waltz - 3 10’s from the judges, which don’t count. Only the call-in votes count. They were leading in the Freestyle. Kelly and Alex’s Freestyle was (IMHO) better than their performance last time, footwork-wise, although they didn’t get the marks for it. They didn’t bother with much footwork - in both their qQuickstep and Foxtrot they tried to cover up Kelly’s lack of dance moves with a lot of lifts by Alex. john and Charlotta’s Freestyle wasn’t terribly proficient, compared to the Quickstep, Tango or Foxtrot they could’ve done; however, John did successfully accomplish several lifts, which the judges gave him high praise for.[/spoiler]
I tried to call in to vote for John and Charlotta, but the phone lines were always busy. There was no internet voting this time. The middle judge did make a point to say that he was stopped several times by people saying that John and Charlotta should’ve won the first time. When he asked those folks if they voted, they all said no. He said “Don’t moan if you don’t phone.”

really? no online voting? they did during the regular season.
You can vote on-line at the ABC website.
I tried to call in to vote for John and Charlotte and got nothing but busy signals.
As I said in the thread I started, the rematch brought home to me how much I dislike Kelly Monaco. As the gentleman next to me said during her free-style dance, “She didn’t do any dance steps!” (That’s not true, actually – I counted at least 1 1/2.) To me, the competition was about athleticism and determination vs. grace and style. Since to me, grace and style are what dance is supposed to be about, not to mention what raises the underlying athleticism and determination to a whole new level, grace and style should win. Here’s hoping it does!

Vindication! I’m not truly convinced that the results would be so close, excpet that perhaps both phone lines were so busy that people weren’t able to call in long enough to get an accurate sampling. Still, I’m pleased for John and Charlotta.
AB sure milked this for all it’s worth.

It’s interesting to see that when Alec dances with his regular partner, he doesn’t rely on the gimmicky moves and flinging her around the way he does with Kelly
Kelly was really, really pissed that she didn’t win.
I’m in love with John O’Hurley. I think he should be the next People’s Sexiest Man.
Annie I agree! ::swoon::
Is it just me or do all of Kelly’s dance moves consist of shaking her ass and prancing her legs like a pony? Seriously she looked downright bowlegged and awkward. I don’t think she’s a very nice person.
Edeta(sp?) is just beautiful. She looked almost naked during her dance. I know this because hubby was walking past the tv rolling his eyes and stopped dead saying nothing more than “Holy shit!” And for some reason my 13 year old son also wanted to keep mom company for the show but he has the hots for Kelly. I’ll have to have hubby educate him a bit more.
And Charlotte is the epitome of class, elegance and beauty. She’s simply stunning and actually seems like a very nice person. She makes Kelly look like a troll (it’s not a comment on their respective heights).
I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought Ms. Monaco looked thoroughly peeved.
Hehehe…
I can just see it now…
"They fought before, for ratings.
They fought again, for honor.
This time… IT’S PERSONAL!!!
Dancing with the Stars, 3: It’s time for a payback of revenge that’s harder!
Missed both shows – are you guys saying that that bowlegged little troll actually thought she had really won the first time?
Maybe I’m just a little bit too cynical, but did anyone else think that this was all scripted? The clearly superior dance team gets robbed in the first show and then wins in the second show? Maybe the only unscripted moment is in the first show when producers are looking to see who the two most popular teams are?
I’ve said the same thing before about similar shows like American Idol. If both contestants have enough voters to jam the phone lines then the count is not valid.
I would just like to say that I was visiting my mother when this was on.
She is, god love her, a soap fan. She had filled me in on the drama behind the rematch, and her position was that John O’Hurley was being a “bad sport” for suggesting that soap fans may have voted in numbers over something other than performance.
She recorded the “dance off” but was watching something else while it was on. When it was over, my sister (also a dedicated soap fan) called to remind her to vote.
As she was trying to get through, I asked her if she didn’t think she was validating Mr. O’Hurley’s claim by voting without having watched the competition. I don’t think she saw any irony in it.
Of course, I’m inclined to think that (like all “reality” shows) the whole thing was carefully scripted to create dramatic tension – but I understand that they raised a bunch of extra money for the B/C Katrina fund, so it’s all to the good.

I thought the same thing, too. At the end when John tried to dance with her she didn’t seem to know what to do so he just picked her up and twirled her. It was cute how Charlotte kept looking over at them, I don’t know if she missed John or was afraid Kelly was going to put his eye out with one of her boobs.
I don’t think Kelly helped her cause much with the comments she made during the show. How “she deserved to win last time” and how insulting it was to her that people said she didn’t win fair and square. She sounded rather petty.
I watch General Hospital (god knows why, it irritates the hell out of me) and I even saw some episodes of Port Charles (the soap Kelly was on before GH). Kelly’s entire acting schtick is to talk in low breathy tones, pout and accentuate her boobs (tight shirts, cleavage and crossing her arms a lot to make them stick out more). They’ve been talking about her getting a part on Desperate Housewives, I sure hope that doesn’t happen.
