Pretty shocking elimination! I liked Heather on Glee and would have preferred for her to stay around for at least longer than Bonner and the Bachelor. On the other hand, she is just about the ringiest ringer that ever rang on this show, and I wonder if that had something to do with her not getting votes.
Oh, man, I’ve still got that opening song from Disney week stuck in my head. “What can a little magic do?”

This is just a popularity contest for the younger folk. Nancy Kerrigan was way, way better than either the Cowboy (Bolton) or the Baseball player (Ross). No contest.
A double elimination and the two worst dancers (Bonner and David) both survive?!
Sorry to see Nancy go, especially after losing Heather last week.
I’ve already forgotten about the Bachelor. I wish they’d stop bringing these guys on–they’re always so bland.
Normani should win, but the gymnasts usually seem to have big fan-bases so if I had to bet I’d put my money on Simone.
Bonner continues to get overscored. That saloon dance was not very good. Too much production, too little dancing. And it seemed like an awful song to dance a Paso Doble.
Lindsay farting in David’s face was hilarious!
Wow, Simone gets the axe. She handled it well, but Ross must feel like a heel. He can’t control the fans, but I almost expected him to volunteer to leave when they called her name out. Normani wins for sure now.
Simone was a bit too intense for a show like DWTS. Her comment last week, “smiling doesn’t win gold medals” probably hurt her.
DWTS isn’t the Olympics. It’s more reality show than competition. Being gracious and having fun is part of the strategy in winning.
aceplace - Simone’s remark came right after the judges slammed her for smiling constantly. I don’t think it hurt her, and she received several accolades for it. Although that doesn’t mean the voting audience approved.

Well, I finally caught up on the final few episodes of this season.
I’m glad that Rashad and Emma won, though I do feel they kind of stalled in the middle of the season, and there were clearly better dancers…
Didn’t they slam her for NOT smiling? When she made that comment, I thought it would hurt her with the voters, and it looks like maybe it did. Eliminated in 4th place.
So then I thought for sure David Ross would be in 3rd place. I mean, there’s no way he’d be one of the top two… oh, crap. :smack:
Normani was by far the best dancer left after Heather and Nancy were eliminated, and yet she only gets third place? Wow.
While I generally like the extra musical and dance performances they have, that Finals show felt too long and with too much filler. I will note, however, that Hailee Steinfeld looks all grown up now. :eek:
The week before, both Carrie Ann and Julianne commented that she always danced with a smile on her face, which they thought looked fake, like she was trained to do it for the gymnastics judges. So the following week, she had a relatively serious or aggressive dance, and she didn’t smile. Then they commented on that - “Where’s the smile?” and that’s when her response was, “Smiling doesn’t win gold medals.”.
