Unlike some recent seasons, I’ve actually heard of most of these people. Despite that, I’ve no idea who might stand out in the early going.

Cheers.

Sharna is a phenomenal teacher. She’s taken a race car driver, football player and even Andy Dick pretty far in the competition .

Derek Fisher will probably make the top six just because of her teaching and chorography.

TO will do well if he gets along with Cheryl. He was an unpredictable athlete. He’ll blow the whole thing off if he doesn’t like his coach.

Mark is a great teacher. His partners normally make the finals. Victoria is in good hands.

Barbara got stuck with Keo. I haven’t seen any of his partners do well. He just doesn’t seem to teach beginners that well.

Why is it that every season I know less and less of the cast?

Personally I’d cheer for Debbie, Nick, and Vanessa. Barbara should be fun to watch. Frankie might have some moves? However, athletes tend to do well in DWTS so YMMV.

I have no idea who the other people are.

I recognize 2 names.

I like this show, but the phrase “reality TV star” needs to be banned from the English language.

The Reality TV Star in Chief would probably try to stop this…

Yay, Lindsey Stirling! Now I have a reason to watch again.

I recognize Drew Scott, he is one of the Property Brothers on HGTV. Also Frankie Muniz and Debbie Gibson. I don’t recognize the others.

I’m only familiar with Owens, Muniz, Gibson, and Nick Lachey. And I’ve heard of Stirling.

Oh, and I saw a short article about Jordan Fisher that made him sound like an extremely talented performer. He had a role in the Broadway play Hamilton. I’d look for him to do well.

Mark always comes up with a few unusual dances, so I’m glad he’s back.

Sharna’s my favorite pro, so of course I want her to go far. Don’t really know anything about her partner, but I hope he’s at least better than the mannequin she was paired with last time.

I had a crush on Debbie Gibson back in the day, so I’ll probably be rooting for her, too.

Anyone watch the first show?

Looks like the early favorites are Jordan, Lindsey, and Vanessa. Strong first dances by all three.

From the rest of the pack, the only one I thought was really bad was Barbara.

Debbie Gibson has a great attitude. I didn’t know about her Lyme disease–hope it doesn’t cause her too many problems during the season. I know it can really zap your strength.

Drew was ‘meh.’ I don’t see him going far.

Sasha is cute, but looked like one of the weaker dancers to me.

Derek was very good–I think he’s got potential.

I expected T.O. to do better, maybe he’ll step it up next week.

Victoria is adorable and her story is very inspiring. I can’t imagine dancing without being able to feel your legs.

Frankie did fairly well. I wonder how much his previous back injury will hinder him.

Nick was also pretty good. Could go far with Peta pushing him.

Nikki - I don’t watch wrestling, but she’s hot and I… appreciate… assertive women.

I’m not familiar with many of these celebs, but they seemed like a fairly likable group overall. I didn’t get much of a ‘drama queen’ vibe from any of them–though it’s only week 1 so that could certainly change.

Unlike some seasons, the group seems rather evenly matched in the early going.
The ones I’m rooting for are Lindsey, Victoria, Debbie, Derek and Frankie.

Just spitballin’ here, but Sasha and Drew seemed most likely to make an early exit. I missed Barbara’s turn.

The judges were really struggling with the "one judge commenting on each dance thing.

Yeah, while I welcomed not having to hear Carrie Ann and Bruno babbling on as much as usual, the way the judging and scores were handled felt a little awkward.

Like the “only 1 judge talks” format although it will go away later in the season. I can’t recall anyone getting a 4 before, although it was well earned.

I really hope Barbara drops the cougar act - it came off as very forced. I see her going quickly so it may not matter.

Poor Keo. He seems like such a good guy and he always gets stuck with the old ladies.

StG

And he’s out!

That lady was nuts, and I’m glad to see her gone. It seems like the judges are purposely underscoring the really good dancers, maybe thinking it’s too early for 9s. But to my untrained eye, some of these have been very good.

Nick’s wife (can’t remember her name) is a stunner, for sure, but her personality grates on me. The Malcom guy seems like a good “kid” as well as the young guy from Hamilton. Debbie is very sincere, and I hope she does well. She seems like a sweetheart. And is that D. Fisher’s mom who keeps popping up in cameo? What a ratings boost she brings. She is like the mommiest mom who ever mom’ed. And I mean that in a good way!

Hunh, I was frankly a bit shocked by tonight’s elimination. I would have thought Drew or Sasha before that one.

So, the other Lachey brother, OK. I remember when Drew was on, a long time ago.

Deborah Gibson?* Lindsey Stirling?!!*

I’ve heard the name Frankie Muniz–Oh, Malcolm of Malcolm in the Middle. I had to look him up. So that’s a few contenders I sort of know. I am curious to see Lindsey Stirling dance.

You should. She’s a likely finalist.

Yep, she’s one of the ones to beat.

Just catching up on the last two weeks.

Glad Barbara left first–she was cringe-inducing on and off the dance floor.

I was sorry that Debbie went so early. She was better than at least a couple of other dancers that remain.

I want to root for Derek. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. And I’m a fan of Sharna. But that Fresh Prince dance was pretty bad.

Frankie Muniz is a lot of fun. That old video of him singing though was sooo bad.

Lindsey Stirling is doing really well and seems to have a great attitude. Definitely a favorite.

Victoria is still adorable and is doing well. Hope she stays a while.

There are rumors that Vanessa and Maks weren’t getting along great off camera and that could be why he was absent from this week’s show. He’s been tweeting that he’ll be back next week.

Wait-- season 25? That thing has been on longer than L&O: SVU?
