Danged creaky shoes!

I just bought a new pair of leather oxfords. They’re very cute and were a good price but upon donning them I discovered that they were very noisy. The leather is shiny (not patent) and well-oiled, and the tongue is creaking when it rubs up against the inside of the upper. Will this go away once they break in? Can I do something about it now?

Thanks!

Try some neatsfoot oil. Friendly to leather, you should be able to buy it at an Army Navy or sporting goods store.
