A small milestone.
I went to the store this morning for my weekly trip. The Danube is stocking Danish butter again. I forgot to see if Danish cookies are back in.
First time since the brouhaha over the Mohammed cartoons.

Here I thought Danish Butter In Back was a new code word for Brokeback Mountain types.
Yay for you getting Danish Butter.
It still sounds dirty.
OK, I have to ask: What’s so grand about Danish butter? I always thought butter was butter was butter. But (heh) I see imported Danish and English butter at the local grocery store – here in the heart of America’s Dairyland.
Sell me on it, please. Why should I buy Danish butter?
Danish butter is delicate but very creamy. If you like barely salted uncultured butter, it’s worth a try. Good for putting on a scone or baking. Me, I like the French stuff - cultured with crunchy salty bits.
The Agriculture Department mandates that butter must be 80% butterfat minimum, with the rest being made up of water and milk solids. Premium butter, such as Organic Valley and others (you don’t have to buy imports) are up in the 86% fat content range, making them creamier and tastier than their counterparts. You’ll also pay 2-4 times the price.
Paul - I’ve been meaning to ask - did you ever hear back from the king? (Not the Burger King, because that would be just scary)
StG
Danish butter IS back, dangnabit.
Anyway, the King’s office sent the pleas to the Ministry of Defense who did not bother to reply. I went to the Council of Ministers (who assigned it a control number that seemed so official) and they gave me a number at the Ministry to call. It does not answer.
They blew it off.
I’m glad you got your Danish butter back.
Sorry to hear you didn’t get a good resolution from the King et al. I thought I had missed what happened with that.
I did get the number of the guy who schedules you to see the King. I will call him tomorrow. Maybe he will pick up the phone.
But how is anyone to buy the butter if there is no pay? Or how to buy any food at all? I hope this king fella can bother to help fix things.
