Upon re-reading the above, I definitely missed where you seemed to (painfully) admit that a town SP probably means a town Mosier. I blame 2 things for my mistake, one of which is how difficult this game is to follow on my small phone screen at work, and the other of which is how convoluted the admission that I might be town was.
Ok, so I screwed the pooch on this one. I was worried this shorter format was going to bite me in the butt when I signed up, and I was right. :smack:
Yes, I probably could have written that clearer. I’m also working with a mobile phone, and I inhabit my own head, so sometimes things are probably clearer to me than to others.
My goal with that lengthy explanation was to show how I arrived at my conclusion, and why I think we have to assume you’re town. My overall point stands: we can’t lynch somebody to get info about you, see that the info suggests you’re town, and then lynch you to confirm the info we just got. I wanted to make that clear, but I see I didn’t do the best job of that.
Ouch. It was still wiser than not lynching at all. Sorry, Plankton.
Ok, so normally when I’m at work I use my phone to keep up with the game and make some posts, and when I get home I do my deeper analysis and more detailed posts. However, we started a new project at work yesterday that keeps me away from my desk for most of the day, and the past couple of nights I’ve been so busy I barely got to sit down, much less spend a hour or two on analyzing the game.
So moving forward, I might be able to make a post first thing in the morning and in the afternoon right before I head home, but most posts will be in the evenings.
Just got on today.
First off, Damnnit! And sorry, Plankton.
As I’ve said before, the hard-and-fast “lynch the lurker” philosophy has never really sat well with me, but I understand it after that last epic game.
I have more to comment on, but we need to get through fluff time and there is a bit of pre-end of game stuff and following commentary for me to wade through.
Sucks to lose a Deputy, though. Tight game. We don’t have a lot of margin for error here, as I’ve also pointed out recently.
OK. So, Town caught a break with a save (apparently), and scum caught a break with a mis-lynch.
I got some reading to do…
Yep, sure is quite toNight. Mebbe too quiet.
VOTE TEXCAT
Wait … what?
Oh that’s right, we’re in Night Phase. Plus I’m running this show. PLUS THEY’RE NOT EVEN IN THE GAME!! Sorry, just wanted to join in the shenanigans.
Carry on.
Not even in the game? That’s the ultimate lurking strategy. Scum TexCat confirmed.
Damn, so if any Doper’s that aren’t signed up is the same as lurking and therefore are Scum, I’d say Town is severely outnumbered.
Balance fail!
Worst. Game moderator. EVER!
I know. I feel such shame. So much shame.
A vote on TexCat? Where is sangfroid?
They didn’t show up today either, so I sent out a mail asking for help.
I got a reply, Mahaloth! Try using Tor: Torproject.org
By the way, OOG:
I need to have a proposal for a class next monday. I thought maybe a biometric mafia-type game played with the aid of like heart rate monitoring, sleep rate monitoring, monitoring of diet etc. I think this would have to be played in regular sessions over an extended period of time, with players always wearing a multisensor sending data to a cloud. Basically, everybody are allowed to monitor each other’s daily lives in various ways while playing mafia. Does this sound like an interesting experiment?
Call it Mafia version 1984
Let me officially welcome you into the brotherhood of mad scientists. One of us! One of us!
Well Dopers are Freak show worthy, so, sure… why not.
