They are making a sequel to “The Dark Crystal”

Henson productions, Brian Froud, and Genndy Tartakovsky. There is just so much coolness here I may freeze to death!

Yep, gonna wanna see it when it comes out!

Hmm. read the proposed storyline, wonder how the crystal becomes “dark” again after being fixed at the end of the first movie?

I was going to propose a sequel where evil aliens come to steal the galaxy’s biggest dilithium crystal to power their planet-destroyer.

Does anyone even remember that movie? Well, ok, some people do, but seriosly, whose idea was this? I haven’t seen the original since it was released in theaters.

Are you kidding? It’s a cult classic. You obviously hang out with the wrong crowd. (In meatspace, anyway. On-line, you obviously hang out with us!)

I know what’s going on my Netflix queue!

Interesting. The original was a cool piece of work that we still watch every now and then with our kid. My wife will be thrilled to see this happening.

I absolutely love the Dark Crystal, and have ever since I saw it as a kid. I awlays get a little nervous when “new” people take on stories I love, but this looks like it could be really neat.

I don’t know. As much as I love other movies of the era/genre, Dark Crystal never really captured my imagination.

That said, a sequel could be pretty cool.

Of course, I’m still waiting to see what happens with the remake of The Last Unicorn.

OOoooo, sweet! Thank you for the head’s up. (I just hope that we don’t see Dexter or Power Puff like characterizations, but from the images they showed it seems not.)

Funny how some movies affect others more than some. That movie made me want to be a puppeteer when I was a kid.

Jen, Kira, Fizzgig, Aughra, the Skeksis, the Mystics, the Podlings, the Garthim, the landstriders…

I still have the Marvel Comics adaptations somewhere.

I’m still a huge, huge fan of designer Brian Froud.

I just watched it on Sunday with my neice and nephew. It was a little on the scary side for them, but they held up great. Now when The Power of the Dark Crystal comes out, they’ll be up to speed!
