Dark Side of the Moon syncs up with WHAT now?

OK So we’ve all heard the stories that Dark Side and Wizard of Oz sync up pretty well with each other.

I’ve also heard the stories about Wish You Were Here syncing up with Blade Runner. Of course they both depend on starting the album at the exact right time.

Tried them both, there were some interesting connections…but you can easily do that with any movie/album.

So now people are starting to claim that Dark Side of the Moon syncs with Star Wars The Force Awakens. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/dark-side-of-the-moon-force-awakens/
Has anyone tried the Wizard of Oz/Dark Side? Do you think the Star Wars is credible or just hype?

Re Dark Side v Oz, the Master Speaks, 16 years ago!

ETA: the synchronicity with OZ and DSOTM is pretty damned compelling (and damned funny!) when the tornado hits Kansas and Dorothy bonks her noggin. Other times not so much.

Example of DSOTM + OZ

So, are there people who sit around all day trying to sync up DSotM with every movie that comes along?

Well there’s an idea. I think Citizen Kane is on later. Now where’s my Dark Side Of The Moon 8 track?

I personally think people should give DSOTM a break.

I’m gonna try to sync up Slayer’s Reign in Blood with Mary Poppins tonight

Years ago I read somewhere that the 2112 album by Rush synched up with Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, so I tried it. You were supposed to start the album when Wonka is first coming out of the factory to meet the kids. After his cane sticks in the ground, you start the album right when he grabs for the cane the second time.

It kinda worked. The Chocolate Room scene was pretty cool, and “Something For Nothing” plays while Veruca Salt is doing her “I Want It Now” number.

Hell’s bells - if we’re gonna do it at all, let’s do it right. Have you noticed that IN BOTH FILMS, near the beginning, there is an older person giving counsel to a younger person in a room with candles, and there is a little cute thing wandering around, and then a positive shitstorm hits FROM THE SKY, and then an evil person shows up? And how about a heroine who lives in an isolated, dusty area who is pushed out of her normal life into a journey of discovery, and who is attempting to connect with her past, AND finds a companion who is trying to find his courage? And what about witches and Jedi, BOTH LIGHT AND DARK? And how about the presence of a powerful and symbolic article (lightsaber/silver shoes/“ruby slippers”).

And don’t even get me started on a frightening, dominating enemy who turns out to be not quite as powerful as was first believed?

Sync with DSotM? Bush league psych-out stuff, mang. Or at least bush-league Joseph Campbell stuff.
