All you need is dark rum and ginger beer.
Finding good ginger beer is surprisingly difficult.
Yeah, I use the whole can of Barritts, because it’s awesome. So, being lazy, I do the can of beer, two shots of booze and one shot of lime juice. And since I keep the ginger beer in the fridge, I don’t need no steenking ice. I like that it simultaneously relaxes me and perks me up.
I make these, but use Gosling’s Black Seal (dark) Rum, Ginger Beer and garnish with a lemon. It’s my second-favorite rum drink, but easier to make at home than my favorite (Mai Tai).
and a lemon garnish. To be fair, on one occasion I didn’t have any lemons and had to garnish my Dark & Stormy with a prune, so I suppose you could call the lemon “optional” (but the drink is WAY better with it)
This is not a new cocktail. Been around a long time, and does not include spiced rum, dark rum only.
