OK, I am 300 pages into the book, and I will thank anyone responding NOT to post spoilers from what I haven’t read yet, but I have one question that has been bothering me since I opened the book: Is it just me, or in the picture plates in the book, does Roland look an awful lot like a young Staphen King, or am I projecting?
Not sure. Is there a particular plate you have in mind?
That would be a young Stephen King. Who Staphen King is I don’t know. Probably a german version from many worlds down the Tower.

Thought so, but it never hurts to check.
I guess I can see a vague resemblance between that and the picture on the back of the jacket, but not enough to say it was intentional. They’re both dark-haired white guys, y’know?
I’m with ultrafilter – there’s a slight resemblence, but nothing overwhelming. The illustrations are cool as hell, though. 
When Roland met King last book, Eddie commented on how similar they looked “They could be father and son” (or words to that effect)
