"Darth Vader, Spider-Man, or the Munsters...?" (quote from unknown TV show)

My googling is failing me…

So the subject quote is from a TV comedy (or possibly a movie), likely 90s or late 80s. The setup is 3 characters talking about some sort of job or task (maybe a low-level heist or something), with the protagonist and two ‘dumb hick’ types. The hick characters may be brothers.

Hick 1 says that Hick 2 has a good idea, and Protagonist is skeptical, as Hick 2 is known for being especially dumb. Hick 1 says something like the following:

“Yeah, everyone thinks he’s dumb, but one time we were talking about who would win in a fight between Darth Vader, Spider-Man, and the Munsters. I said Darth Vader for sure, but he said the Munsters, and he’d done pages of math to prove it…”

Then the protagonist cuts him off.

I remember it being very funny, so apologies if my memory doesn’t do it justice. But what show (or movie) was it?

Sounds like Larry, Darryl and Darryl from Newhart.

ETA - nevermind, I see that more than 1 hick speaks.

I thought that might be it (a show I remember fondly watching with my family), but googling failed to find such a scene or episode.

Anyone?

I found a Reddit thread about who would win in a fight between Darth Vader, Robo Cop, and the Munsters. Which is (probably) not what you’re looking for, but “Darth Vader v. the Munsters” is a sufficiently singular match up, maybe someone in the comments mentions the same movie/show you’re thinking of?

The thread’s only three posts, and it begins with a link to a disabled Youtube video. I also checked the Wayback Machine, but that was a long shot, and that video isn’t archived there.

I admit I did not look at the Reddit thread beyond reading the OP before I posted it here.

It’s from TALES FROM THE CRYPT, season five, episode five.

I feel partially vindicated.

It’s the kind of exchange sometimes heard between Hank, Brent, and/or Davis on Corner Gas, but I think that’s a bit out of your time frame.

How did you determine this? Is there a script or list of quotes somewhere?

Maybe it was Robocop. I’m trying to find a breakdown of the Crypt episode that Waldo mentioned.

Crypt might be right (very poorly formatted but still complete looking script). And I think it was indeed Robocop.
