dat entry in Excel dividing all numbers by 100

My work colleague is having a problem in Excel where if she enter in ‘1’ it changes to ‘0.01’, and so on for all numbers.

We have tried changing the cell format and percentage but that hasn’t helped. It’s happening in all worksheets of that file and is also happening if she starts a whole new file.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Forgot to say, Excel 2000, Windows 2000.

From the menu at the top of the screen, select Tools > Options > Edit, then clear the checkbox for Fixed Decimal.
