David Duchovny Why Won't You Love Me (A 90s flashback)

Hank Green brought this up today but I actually remember this swimming around the Internet back at the time. It is like a Who’s Who Time Capsule of 90s Pop Culture and the song is darn catchy.

They give off the same vibe as Taylor Swift. I wonder if Taylor was influenced by them.

That song had “one-hit wonder” written all over it when it came out, and it did, in fact, turn out to be her high-water mark as far as music. But she’s found considerable success doing voiceovers for commercials in recent years. She’s been the voice of E*Trade since 2020, and the makers of Sotyktu appear to think she’s got just the voice that will make sufferers of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis choose their product.

The Bree Sharp!

For what it’s worth, Bree’s work with Beautiful Small Machines is vastly superior to this song, in my humble opinion. A sample.

The song is cute for a novelty song but the reason the video is impressive is the number of celebrities that cameo in the video. She made the song as a goof and somehow the crew of the X Files got wind of it and liked it so they made this video for their Christmas party as a fun joke.
