Dawn the Vampire Slayer?

Inspired by this post:

So, would you have?

Well, since the actress who played her looks like this, I have to say hells yeah I’d watch.

Sure, I like Dawn. I can see why some people may find her whiny and annoying, but I think she has also matured a lot throughout the series.

I wouldn’t expect it to be better than it’s older sister, but I’d have watched. And probably have been pleasantly surprised from time to time.

I’d certainly like it better than only getting new Buffy in the form of the season 8 comics, which I stopped reading fairly early in because the character designs for the most part looked very little like the characters. (Also, didn’t like the plot, but mostly it was the having to remind myself through the comics who was who.)

There needs to be a third option.

Yes I’d have watched a show with Dawn as the hero.

But, Dawn, as she existed at the time of Buffy’s second death couldn’t just be thrown into the ‘Slayer’ role and be particularly satisfactory - it’d have ended up a slaughter, or a betrayal of Dawn’s character.

She’d have needed to sidekick for a while, with a proper mentor, not a Watcher-type - bring in a redeemed Faith to mentor her, or have Spike play the Batman to her Robin…

Or skip the Slayer route entirely, and have her study under Willow and Tara and then have the Witches Three as the heroes, in the second half of the season, preferably. The first half would have the rest of the Scoobies doing the heroing while the girls did their studies.

Oh…perhaps part of the studies would be a journey through the afterlife to find Buffy, intending to bring her back less traumatically than it canonically ended up being - treading through a Hell dimension, dealing with demons on their home turf (not necessarily fighting them), and eventually making their way into Heaven. But, when they find her she tells them she’s OK with everything. She’s with her mother again, she did her duty, and she’s happy. Cue the now stronger Dawn stepping up to fill the void left by Buffy.

Yes, I would have watched Dawn the Vampire Slayer.

Not only did I like the character of Dawn, but it also would have been ten times better than the season six that we got (as Tengu’s ideas clearly show).

If Whedon writes it, I’d watch it.

It would have to have been better than what we got. I’m Joss’ bitch, so I’d watch religiously.

A show about a hot girl kicking ass? Yeah I’d watch it.

Better than what we got? What do you mean? The activation of all Slayer potentials?

But a new Slayer wasn’t, and couldn’t be, called at the time of Buffy’s second death. The line of Slayers goes Buffy-Kendra-Faith. The fact that Buffy came back to life after Kendra was called doesn’t mean that future deaths-of-Buffy will trigger a new calling.

I said in the other thread that I’d have watched, but young Miss Trachtenberg is something other than comely. That picture is a particularly bad example, but she’s never inspired lustful thoughts from me.

I clicked yes because, even though I didn’t like Dawn, I certainly would have watched it at least once.

The idea was that she’d become a slayer because she had been made from Buffy, being basically a clone with lots of modifications.

I would rather watch Xander in a blonde wig with the nerd squad as backup.

Dawn was just waaaaaaay too whiny.

I think Dawn’s a better actor than Buffy, so I’d watch it.

Seasons Six and Seven. DtVS would have been so much better.

Skald, you are just slipping. If this picture(http://www.drunknipslips.com/blog/pics1celebs/michelle-trachtenberg-nipple-slip.jpg)(NSFW) doesn’t at least get evil thoughts brewing, you’re dead. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry. Even putting aside the fact that I think of her as a little kid, she’s just not attractive to me. She’s even bonier than Sarah Michelle Gellar, and she doesn’t have the great face SMG does to offset that.

Yeah, well, you’re not a Semitic Caucasoid, either. Your mileage can be expected to vary.

Yeah, I think a longer arc of BtVS with Tara, Willow, Dawnie, & the Buffybot as a weird little family (instead of just one episode) could have been fun.

In that picture she looks about 12. /usually when I say ‘about 12’ I just mean ‘really young,’ but in that picture she does actually look the same age as my almost 12-yea-of daughter. I know she IS older than that, so it’s not dodgy, but it’s a huge turn-off for me.

Aside from that, she’s just not my type.
