Day Of The Dead 1985, did I imagine this scene/s?

When I first saw the movie on late night TV or possibly someone’s VHS copy long ago I remembered a scene/s not present on the DVD release.

I could swear there was a scene or scenes where Sarah is shown going to the medicine cabinet and taking both an ampule and syringe early in the film, or finding the ampule empty and going hunting for more and acting fearful of being seen.

This precedes her drugging the soldier later on, the implication I thought was that Sarah was using/addicted to morphine or some kind of sedative to deal with the stress of the situation. It would explain the opening of the film where she fell asleep in a helicopter and had a vivid dream, also the ambiguous ending where it seems she is having vivid dreams again and “wakes up”. Also her borderline delusional claim she and her boyfriend are a couple when he acts like it ended long ago, and how she seems bizarrely calm and “wakes up” to their situation during the film.

For the first part of the movie she seems out of it basically, which would make sense if she was abusing narcotics. She comes to suddenly out of a vivid dream three times in the movie and the whole thing has a very strange vibe(which I love) but I’m not sure makes sense otherwise.

But I see nothing on IMDB about any deleted scenes, no mention anywhere. I’m wondering if I didn’t imagine the whole thing or my memory is getting hazy.

I don’t know the answer to your question. But I just wanted to mention that I’m about to walk through the filming location on my way to lunch.

Ciao.

Don’t choke on it! Don’t choke on iiiiiiiiit!

Having lunch with aunt Alicia?
