It came out in the early 70’s (I think 73), and starred Jan Murray (and a number of other people I can’t remember off-hand). I watched Reservoir Dogs this weekend, and the concept of the criminals not knowing each other by their real names (Mr. Pink, Mr. White, etc.) made me remember this movie, which had a similar set up.
Instead of colors, each guy was a number (One, Two, Three, etc.). These folks were to rob a town’s bank, escape on an airplane, bail out and the plane would be on autopilot until it went into the Pacific Ocean.
I’ve done some googling for this movie, and the only place I can find it is on IMDB. I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else, and haven’t seen it in ages.
Anyone remember this movie, and if so, any idea where I can get a copy? Thanks!
Yep - I’ve just finished a documentary on “Day of the Wolves”, so I know more than I should do about this film…! It’s listed as 1973 on IMDB for some unknown reason, but it was in fact made in 1971. It’s widely considered to be in the public domain, and you’ll find public domain web sites such as publicdomaintorrents.com openly have it as a download. Also, you’ll find it on compendium DVD’s (“20 gunslinger movies”, or the like) and I think it’s available from the Turner classic movies channel (TCM) website as a DVD. If you need further information, feel free to shoot a question.
Thanks! I was beginning to believe I hallucinated a viewing of this when I was a kid. I appreciate the info, and I’ll take a look at the pdtorrent page to see it.
