As some of you know, I’m a jazz singer. I’m coming to the end of an 8-week vocal workshop, and for our “graduation” the other participants and I will be performing at the iconic Blues Alley on Monday, 12/10 @ 7pm. The program is mostly straight-ahead jazz, from the Great American Songbook (think Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, etc.). Some of the singers are working musicians – like yours truly – but for others this will be their first time singing in front of other people.
There are two sets, which the club treats as separate shows: the first one starts at 7pm, and the second one starts at 9pm. Each show will feature six singers performing three songs, all backed by a professional jazz trio. I’ll be in the 7pm show, but if you can’t make it that early please consider joining us for the later one: I’ll be there all night, and I guarantee you won’t regret it!
Tickets are just $10: they can be purchased in advance, but if you prefer you can simply make a reservation and the cover will be added to your check when you leave. There is also a $10 minimum.
