Dccc at dccc dot org -- legitimate, or spam?

I’ve been getting emails from dccc at dccc dot org, all soliciting donations (supposedly for Democrats) and with lots of click buttons for donation amounts, lots of text that is really a clickable image, and just in general a very spammy look.

I marked the first one as spam, that just had the above address as the sender. Then I got another one, that had "Dan, " in front of it, and it didn’t go into the spam folder, so I marked it as spam. I did not open either one of these. Then I got a third one that had an ostensible sender “Hakeem Jeffries” but the actual source was the same email, and that one did not go into the spam folder either. I did open that one just so I could get a better idea of what was going on, and I marked it as spam.

I went to the url dccc dot org briefly, it looks like it’s just a banner ad with some click buttons for donation amounts, and a little bit of persuasion attempted.

So in typing this I’ve pretty well persuaded myself that it is spam and a fake address to collect money from us left-wing rubes. I guess I’ll have to just keep sending them to the spam folder until they stop coming to my In box.

Very well. I’ll take a chance and click on the Unsubscribe link in the next one that shows up in my In box. I am rather repelled by their email tactics that I have witnessed so far, even if they are in a good cause. Somehow they have managed to get around having their email address marked by me as spam, even professional spammers aren’t normally able to do that.
