On #1, some advice:

Several of us will be willing to post opinions and data on any thread you start to assist you in making your 20 posts. Of course, intelligent opinions and valid facts are not guaranteed.

In Great Debates, any combination of religion, sex, the Presidential election, and constitutional law is guaranteed to take you well over 20 posts within a day. Perhaps the ideal thread title would be “If Dubya Appointed a Gay Fundamentalist to the Supreme Court, Would He Uphold Strict Constructionism?”
In IMHO, a suggestive topic is the ticket. In ATMB, post a thread called “sig test” and purposefully goof up coding. Dozens of helpful people will be along to tell you what you did wrong. If you include a question about smileys, that will also garner comments. MPSIMS is covered, right here. If you don’t have something worth ranting about, check out any online news source and start a Pit thread on what ticks you off the most. In CCC and the other Comments forum, avoid giving the link to the column you’re talking about; that will ensure somebody (probably Arnold) will post to link it. If you express an off-the-wall opinion and don’t give any support for it, a herd of posters will take you to task about it. GQ is unpredictable; there is no real pattern to what attracts people’s attention.
If this was not any use to you content wise, at least you’ve gotten another post out of it.

And sorry, Polycarp…I adamantly refuse to talk about anything election-related. For one, I don’t understand anything about polotics…for two, I just dont care. And would someone please explain what the Comments on Cecil’s Columns is all about??? Who the hell is Cecil and what the hell are his columns? I have some ideas for the other forums, and your suggestions certainly helped. For The Pit, I think I might start something like, “Gay People Bug The Shit Out Of Me!!” Should get a rise out of someone. Or maybe, “You Shit-Faced Fuckheads, You Can All Suck Nuclear Waste!” Too blatant?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. I had an Everquest day yesterday. You will get your 20 posts in other threads soon enough. Just come back in here and posts links. I will be happy to run in there and give you a +1. I find that General Questions is probably the most difficult to get the 20 posts in. You will need to ask some type of question that has an opinion aspect to it (like Great Debates) but also asks for information. Music threads in GQ get a lot of attention.
Here is a check list of the items that you have completed: 2, 3, 4, and 7.
You should post the links here to the threads that you start with hopes of reaching 20 posts. The MIPSIMS crowd will help you out there. You are almost all the way there with the LBMB requirements just need some more information. I suppose I can let Lsura help you out there. As for the Santa and Ed Asner pictures if you send them to me I will be your friend forevre.
As you post around the other forums people will see you and start to recognize you and the three month requirement will be waived as once the recognition starts to set in and your initiation comes to culmination you will no longer be seen as a newbie.

For all of those who know me (aka Tygr), you should already know that my memory is CRAP. For those of you who don’t know me, well…MY MEMORY IS CRAP!!! Im sure Cecil was mentioned to me, but since I was introduced to the SDMB, all I have ever done is go straight to the Boards…never seeing mention of Cecil, aside from the title of the forum Comments On Cecil’s Columns, which I never looked at. Hello??? I was introduced to the SDMB in NOVEMBER!!! Havent been around that long to see all that is offered!!! But why am I bothering to explain…:rolleyes:
Tygr, PLEASE dont be so melodramatic. I’m sure you DID mention Cecil, but I just didnt remember. I sure dont remember you mentioning his column (except in the newspaper), but you very well might have. But thank you for coming to my defense and adding to everyone’s notion of how ignorant I am.

As far as “being seen as a newbie”…Im not really worried about that and thats not why Im doing this. I imagine I will always think of myself as a newbie because I dont relate to most of what’s said in these boards, and I dont see myself ever winding up with a few thousand (or even a few hundred) posts. I’m doing this for FUN, and to see if actually can accomplish all these tasks. I enjoy these boards as a source of amusement, as well as information which will further the expansion of my mind. I dont see myself contributing a whole lot to all the deep thoughts here which seem so above my level of awareness. NO, Im not being hard on myself, just facing the truth. Thanx to everyone re: posting suggestions/advice. I have some good ideas and I HAVE posted before…
