Dead Boy Detectives (Vertigo miniseries) - - SPOILERS

Normally I try to avoid these series that are basically picking over Neil Gaiman’s leavings from Sandman. Which is indisputably what this one does: the protagonists are the two English boarding school boys who died in the pages of the aforementioned comic book.

But this series, just concluded last week, was written by Ed Brubaker, who’s usually good, and illustrated by Bryan Talbot of Luther Arkwright fame, who’s usually quite good.

Did anyone else read it? What did y’all think? I’ll withhold my own opinion until I see if there’s anyone to share it with.

I didn’t get it for the same reason you described: no interest in watching DC whore the carcass of Sandman any more. In fact, after Sandman ended, I pretty much stopped getting Vertigo at all, since it seemed like it had just turned into a “be the next Neil Gaiman” contest.
