"Dead Like Me" episode question

I’ve been watching the repeats of Season 1 episodes of “Dead Like Me”, which Showtime airs Fridays at 1 AM EST, but which TiVo lets me watch whenever I want. For some reason, however, TiVo chopped the last quarter or so of the episode “Sunday Mornings” (number 9, I think).

This is the one where George befriends a college girl who has a crush on her English professor, who happens to be George’s father Clancy, and Rosie causes a guy to get religion by taking his soul temporarily. Can someone spoil the ending of this episode for me? It cut off at the point where George’s new friend decides to give Clancy the poem she wrote for him…

Buy the DVD box set, you cheap bastard! :smiley:

<cough>

You only missed the last six minutes or so. Here’s what happens:

Roxy goes back to the guy she gave religion and finds he’s busy converting people … well, person so far. She tries talking him down again but he insists it’s all a test, she tries pissing him off by telling him his car was towed and he says she’s a vengeful God. Roxy then exacts a cure on him by squeezing his balls until he screams.

George and Charlotte meet up with Clancy at the diner, but when Charlotte chickens out on giving him the poem George asks him if he misses his daughter. Clancy then tells George that what she had interpreted as them drifting apart was in fact him giving her space to grow, and that he was surprised by how easily they’d stopped being close - IOW, it was George’s own feelings of resentment that had led to the rift rather than anything Clancy had done.

Mason then enters the diner with a poem he’s written for Charlotte, only to find her sitting on Clancy’s side of the table with her arm around him. Cue “broken heart” homily from George, FTB.

Thanks! (and I probably will buy the DVD :slight_smile: )
