Potential spoilers, in that I am asking about specific characters played by a specific actor (Tommy Lee Jones).
After watching a movie yesterday, I had this exchange:
My girlfriend: “At least [Tommy Lee Jones’ character] didn’t get killed.”
Me: “Yeah, but Tommy Lee Jones can’t get killed off in a movie.”
This led to an immediate question: Has a Tommy Lee Jones character ever been killed off? I couldn’t think of any cases, but he’s made a lot of movies.
Sure looks dead at the end of Under Siege .
I’m pretty sure his character in the classic Steven Segal flick Under Siege actually gets killed off, not arrested. I saw it again not too long ago (late night, nothing on cable) and I think he gets blown up, IIRC.

He is at least as good as dead, but I don’t remember* if they showed actual death in Space Cowboys.
I was stabbing a dull spoon through my spleen at that point in the movie because it was less painful than watching.
He’s the only one of the Space Cowboys to die. He was the object of The Executioner’s Song ’s attention. The Natural Born Killers don’t leave him unscathed, either. And he definitely gets Blown Away .

I never saw The Executioner’s Song but am I wrong to assume he dies there?
The death isn’t confirmed, but he is shown falling into a mass of sharp rocks and spiked metal at the end of Batman Forever as Two-Face.

He’s killed by Gene Hackman at the end of The Package .
I’m trying to recall if he dies on screen in Cobb , or if they just show him checking into the hospital for the final time.

Have you never seen a movie or read a comic book? That means nothing! Good villians always come back.
He’s just pining for the fjords.

Blown Away has been playing repeatedly on AMCTV lately and it sure appears that Tommy Lee Jones’ character gets killed in the end, as in, he gets blown up
. . . up, and away?
He also dies in A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION.

Well, that settles that! Thanks, all. (At least it wasn’t my memory that was failing me – I haven’t seen any of the flicks mentioned above.)

He offed himself in Oliver Stone’s Heaven & Earth .
He also falls to his death in THE MISSING, and is gunned down in the EYES OF LAURA MARS.
