Dear cow-orkers, I won't be sorry to leave you

For the simple reason that I’m sick of hearing crap like this from cow-orker no. 1 who has precious little idea of how her own body works. She believes, and has confided in a co-worker who has sadly had one, that she’s had two miscarriages so far. Surprising given that she thought she was pregnant on the pill by a man who pulled out before coming and wore a condom anyway. Also on the ugly subject of miscarriages, she reckoned she knew what it was like for our unfortunate co-worker who’d had one as she had surgery before and the surgery was all that mattered in a miscarriage

Still, not as bad as cow-orker no. 2, the office manager, who decided that the aforementioned miscarriage was something that was meant to be and that telling this to the poor woman was a good idea. Not to make it seem like our office revolves around such things, but when I took my girlfriend to hospital thinking she was suffering one, office manager thought I really should be in work and rang and rang and texted and left messages with my parents to that effect :dubious: Lets ignore the fact too that in an office that deals mostly with people from abroad, she’s decidedly racist, especially to any Chinese who come our way.

On a minor note I won’t be missing working with our senior colleague who thought I should turn down an extra 200 quid a month to stay and try and get promoted to his job, just so I can hear him blow every little issue into a crisis for his union. But he amuses me sometimes, so perhaps I’ll miss him a little

Hmm… £200 a month, that’s £2400 a year. Nope. Can’t imagine why you didn’t stay.

Congrats on your escape.
I hope clearer skies await you =)

Thanks, yes I forgot to mention the promotion at work was to a department where heads seem clearer. As a coincidence it was also where cow-orker no. 1 was promoted from, she reported she didn’t get on with the people there so I’m expecting them to be completely normal

That’s a pretty decent raise, I would think. But that’s not really the point. It’s good the OP got out.

Sorry, misunderstood. I thought he meant they were offering two-hundred pounds more per month at the present job as an incentive to stay.

(See how deftly I avoided having to use the pound symbol :))
