Dear God, thank you for not electing Sarah Palin

But the stuff about pallin’ around with terrorists, that was allllll truuuuuue.

Yes. There’s a hoax out there and a couple of the allegations have been proven to be false. This makes the whole thing smell fishy. What I love is Obama-ites who would check outside if Fox News said the sun was shining, and who have spent the last 10 months deriding Fox news- all of a sudden are hailing Fox news as a reliable source and a model of journalistic interity.:dubious:

Dudes- either a news source is reliable or it isn’t (Fox isn’t): you don’t get to claim it’s all crap until they run a story you want to be true- despite all the evidence.

I smell hypocrites.

This story has as much validity as Obama being a secret Muslim.

Oh, and despite the claims made in “post 95” Palin has denied the stories:
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/11/palin-regrets-n.html
"*On other issues discussed in the Van Susteren interview, Palin again refuted the suggestion that she did not know which countries participate in the North American Free Trade Agreement and that Africa is a continent. Palin loaded her answers with details, perhaps trying to show there’s no way she could have made the alleged flops reported by Fox’s Carl Cameron.

On NAFTA, she said, “I remember that discussion, but there was never a question about, well, who are the participants in NAFTA? So for my discussion there to be spun into something that it was not and then being broadcast on national television, again, based on anonymous sources, that’s been another puzzling thing to me.”

On Africa, “So we discussed what was going on in Africa. And never, ever did I talk about, well, gee, is it a country or is it a continent. I just don’t know about this issue. So I don’t know how they took our one discussion on Africa and turned that into what they turned it into,” said Palin.

“I don’t know, because I remember the discussion about Africa, my concern has been the atrocities there in Darfur and the relevance to me with that issue, as we spoke about Africa and some of the countries there that were kind of the people succumbing to the dictators and the corruption of some collapsed governments on the continent, the relevance was Alaska’s investment in Darfur with some of our permanent fund dollars, I wanted to make sure that that didn’t happen anymore.”*

Nailin Palin 10: The Tundra Down Unda

That’s a lot of "ha"s for one tiny part of a side story that for the most part happened after the fact. Are you saying that Palin is now somehow qualified for VP? Or that because I believed someone’s deliberate lie that it mitigates the things that I heard come directly out of her mouth?

What’s funny is that you completely mis-read your own cite. It does not suggest the Africa story is a hoax. Read it more carefully. It states, “And the claim of credit for the Africa anecdote is just the latest ruse by Eisenstadt.”

Surely you understand the difference, right Mr. Moto? If I claim the credit for inventing the cotton gin, and it is later revealed that I was just messing with you, do you doubt the existence of the cotton gin until proven otherwise?

Was it this?

Reading the transcript is almost more fun than listening to it…

Hate to defend Palin, but that last fused sentence (as transcribed) makes sense if you put a period in between “White House” and “I think”–doesn’t begin to make sense of the rest of her babbling, but fair’s fair.

Why don’t you look at what I said?

I explained very carefully in this very thread that something was wrong — that at some point, somebody was using the news to sling dog doots.

No it doesn’t. Sarah Palin herself doesn’t deny it, though she said the comments, whatever exactly they were, were “taken out of context”. See the link in post #95.

To the rest of you, if a Fox journalist said “I have a secret source that sez Obama is a secret muslim” you’d laugh at him

And as far as your childish “Nailin Palin” is a poster came here with a series of “Haulin’ Hussein- Blacksnake Moan” you’d report him for hate speach and racism and pile on him.

If it came from FOX News? Yes, I would, because they have a clear political bias.

If it came from MSNBC, I’d say, “Hmmmm. Could be.”

Which is why this hoax is so compelling. FOX News does not have any particular reason to slag on conservatives unless they believe it’s true.

To turn it around, if a conservative heard FOX News say, “I have a secret source that says John Kerry is a traitor,” they’d believe it, but “I have a secret source that says Bush went AWOL” … okay, bad example.

Those were not “claims”, those were Palin’s own comments recorded on videotape. She IS the cite. So she changed her story again later, which also happens to be a regular thing for her.

Given that a number of Dopers here have posted that they find Barack (and/or Michelle) Obama to be rather sexy, and no one’s bitched about it, its quite clear that you’re dead wrong on this.

Other than a link which doesn’t work for me, I have seen nothing which confirms this. I asked for a transcript or a written article that confirms what the video sez.

I refuse to make a Clinton joke.

So, I’m lying? The link is a written story with an embedded video interview with Palin. I quoted one relevant part in my post.

Ehh, I think “Blowing Barack” or “Obama and the Big O” would be better.

When he met with Bush it was.

Thanks for the edit; I pointed out on November 10 (in the Scum and villainy: Republicans already throwing Palin under the bus. thread), that this " Eisenstadt" probably did not exist. This was widely reported in Huffington post 3 days ago.

OK, here’s a few more…

Blowin’ Barack #1 : Obama and the Big O
Blowin’ Barack #2 : On the Presidents Staff
Blowin’ Barack #3 : Foreign Policy Experience
