Dear God, thank you for not electing Sarah Palin

Okay, looks like I’m misremembering about the towel incident; I had thought that Fox had reported it (not Newsweek), and that it had been semi-confirmed by one of the people who was there.

And I’ll ask you once again…

Which of the following two statements [do you feel] are more likely to be true:

Eisenstadt made up the Africa story and was one of Cameron’s contacts despite not actually working for the McCain campaign and none of Cameron’s contacts ever clued him in that Eisenstadt didn’t work for McCain and Cameron decided to run with the story with only Eisenstadt as the source on the story.

or

Eisenstadt is lying when he says he was the source of the Africa story.

It does not have to be an either/or, nor am I obligated to answer a series of questions, esp when you dodge my questions.

So you think it’s some mixture of both? In what way?

And which question do you think I’ve dodged?

I really thought this talking point would die quickly when Palin (after the initial dazzle of her ascendancy) showed herself to be—if not quite a buffoon, then at least spectacularly underinformed, possessed of a Bushlike incuriosity, and clearly ill-qualified to be President. Then I thought surely it would expire after it was apparent to all and sundry that she helped, in no small part, ensure McCain’s loss in the election. But it soldiers on, like the Terminator dragging the sparking wreckage of its carcass on its scuffed metal elbows.

Please, someone, a coup de grâce? My heart is breaking.

I’m glad she’s still around. She’s like a two-headed weasel at a freak show, pumping out baby two-headed weasels.

I think her staying on the scene will be of ginormous value to Democrats. If she is cast off in a Great Republican Purge, along with her no-nothing ultra social conservative ilk, the Pubs will bcome a threat again very shortly. But as long as they stay polarized, the Democrats win. Also, the Dems win if Palin and her fellow fruitcakes manage to win the Republican intramural war.

Do you think that Fox News is a reliable and trustworthy source, with high Journalistic integrity?

No. I feel they spin or omit facts too much to be trustworthy.

Now. Your turn.

Whatt Vinyl Turnip said. She’s all over the news shows, speaking at the Republican Governor’s Conference this week, and all the TV news people are talking about her political future like she has one. Why aren’t they laughing? I’m not even seeing any smirks!

Where’s that kid from The Emporer’s New Clothes when you need him?

Then, It could be both, either, neither or a mixture. Eisenstadt is a scamster, Cameron is a lying sack of shit, and Fox news is not reliable.

I choose to beleive *no one *until we have it from a reliable and verified source. So far it’s all bullshit.

If this wasn’t news the Palin-haters wanted to believe, they’d be screaming to high heaven about Fox news.

Note- I cheerfully concede Palin is not the sharpest tool in the shed, and I am pretty sure she’d lose to me in a game of Geography trivia. But this- and the “book-banning” story is bullshit. Passing this shit on just shows your bias and credulity.

Sarah Palin in The Governor’s New Clothes.

You know, I think you may be on to something.

This should be the standard opening to every response to one of DrDeth’s arguments.

Also, while I am very happy that this ridiculous Palin person is not in the White House, I have to say, I am looking forward to her shenanigans as a Senator next year, after she replaces the ousted Ted Stevens in a special election.

I agreed with you in post #80.

But I found a video of a Palin interview, the link is in post 95.

In it she basically confirm the “how dumb is she” stories, but claims they were things “taken out of context” while prepping for her debate.

You can argue, if you like, that she made a slip of the tongue, but every time she opens her mouth her tongue slips.

And some people called Biden a gaff machine!

I’m getting that “scared of her” line, too.

I’m worried about people who are not scared of her…as VP. She would have certainly been promoted to a position way past her level of competence.

Yabut, unlike Obama, she doesn’t hate America! (Yes, I have heard that defense of Palin.)

It ain’t over yet. Begich is now ahead of Stevens by 3 points, with thousands more ballots left to be counted.

Considering the scandals that have come to light so far, that more scandals are brewing (regarding her house, for one), her blatant disregard for the truth while on and after she came back from the campaign trail, her throwing so many respected people under the bus (the very popular Walt Monahan, for one), a lot of formerly supportive or apathetic but now angry Alaskans are gearing up to make sure she does not win her re-election in 2010. She may well get thrown out on her ear and have no chance whatsoever in 2012.

Before the election, yes, I was scared of her, because I wasn’t sure I could trust the American people to do the right thing. Now that they have, I’m totally delighted by her stupidity and the fact that she’s showing it everywhere. She’s a beautiful train wreck. I hear (no cite yet) that she actually gave some tips on raising children to Michelle Obama…? I’m trying to figure out where that came from and what she said.

Palin is [del]threatening[/del] saying she’s going to be calling Hillary tomorrow. Part of me would love to hear what’s said between the two of them, but most of me does not want to hear it, as I don’t think I could handle the stoopid.

The sad part is that Hillary will probably be all nice and diplomatic with her. None of the big names in politics (or the media) want to be the first to dismiss Palin. They afraid that they’ll make a martyr of her, and they’re afraid of alienating her supporters.

If someone doesn’t step up soon, I think we could be seeing the creation of a real political monster. She’s not going away on her own, that’s for sure. That could even think of running for President in 2012 or 2016 shows how deluded and ambitious she is. Dangerous combination. She scares me.

I think by “3 points” you mean 3 votes, not 3 percentage points.

What’s the worst that could happen if she got elected? The US gets attacked by terrorists and then responds by invading a completely uninvolved country? Then the economy implodes? LOL! Americans would never be so stupid to. . .Oh, wait.

Tell ya what, find a link to a transcript of that and quote where it sez those things we have seen- North America, NAFTA, Africa and towel.
