Mel has finally reached the point of no return - and hopefully people will remember this the next time anyone considers investing in his next project. Come on, at some point you just have to say enough is enough - and I think this is that point.
I thought he got along swimmingly with Danny Glover. Perhaps he was trying to be as profane as possible, and nothing is more profane in American society than the word “nigger”. He’s still a verbally abusive asshole, but if minorities who’ve worked with him for years and years haven’t noticed any hatred or contempt based on race, then I see that as far more important than how he chooses to bitch people out on his drunken tirades.
I also gave Mel a pass on the drunken verbal tirade. If the world could forgive Jesse Jackson’s “Jew York” and Hymie-town (my personal favorite) comments (and they were made sober), I figured Mel’s apology was worth taking on face-value.
However, this sort of puts Mel in a whole new light, doesn’t it?
Well, maybe he thought that Danny Glover was one of the “good” ones.
There’s a phrase that people use for that…I forget what it is though.
I guess it’s not “nigger-Glover” …
Ba Dum Kssh! This man is on fire. Try the veal!
I would imagine that if Mel Gibson and Danny Glover were reading this thread, BOTH would buy you a beer for that one…
It is the adjective “wild” that requires the “pack”. Otherwise it would just be a gaggle. I can see how you might get that confused.
I would have thought perhaps a “holdfull”.
I second that.
Apparently he just finished a film for Jodie Foster called The Beaver. Actually looks kind of interesting. Shame he’s turned out to be such a jackass.
His behavior won’t stop me from seeing his films.
If that were the case, I’d never see a Tom Cruise film.
And would that be such a great loss?
great loss? no… but I do enjoy most of his films… much more than say, Nick Cage.
There are many actors and actresses that are “out there”, and would do themselves a world of good by keeping their mouths shut. If I like their acting, I try not to get involved with following their politics, religion, or personal thoughts.
For example, from some accounts I’ve read, Clint Eastwood is a major asshole when it comes to his many children by a multitude of women. I still enjoy most of his movies in spite of this.
The winner takes on Naomi Campbell on a BAD day.
:D:D:p
Several tabloids have speculated on various prenups he’s talking with his baby mama. I’ve known that was false: he’s never going to marry her. He’s a crazed fanatical [kinda] Catholic (albeit a vacant chair and other weird shit thrown in type of Catholic)- there’s no way he’s going to remarry since there’s no good reason to have his first marriage annulled.
He’s going to be a male Norma Desmond after this: sickeningly rich but untouchable and probably a nutty recluse. He can’t just apologize to Al Sharpton, give a bunch of money to charity, and call it over as he’s way beyond that stage due to his previous tirades. Let slip the Jews of War.
The pity is that he’s going to heaven but his ex-wife is going to hell (that’s what he said in a previous interview anyway, because she doesn’t share his [kinda]Catholic faith.)
He’s more Catholic than the Pope (seriously)…so that ain’t happening.
Anyone know if the actual call has been released? I didn’t see it on the linked source, and I haven’t been able to find anything but quotes. I’d love to hear it.
What hateful goal am I financing by buying a ticket to a Mel Gibson movie? Mel doesn’t need my ten dollars to be able to scream drunken racist epithets at his wife. I’m pretty sure he’d do that pro bono. If he were using the money to run a hate group, or elect racist politicians, that might be different, but as near as I can tell, there’s no over-arching plot or motive to his actions. He’s just a foulmouthed asshole with poor impulse control, and a talent for making interesting movies. Enjoying the latter isn’t subsidizing the former.
This thread is chock full o’ funny.
Wind chime?
