If you can scratch your hairy nuts while tearing up, its an example of deeply felt emotion. If you don’t have them to scratch, its hysteria. Any questions?
I have a friend who’s living there, having moved there from Utah a little over a year ago. He blogs on an almost daily basis, generally frothing happily over Ron Paul, guns and libertarianism in general.
Blasphemy!
Yes:
-How is this effected if you shave your nuts?
-Can I scratch them (hairy or smooth) if I have no intention of tearing up in any way?
-Does Hillary shave her balls or not?
putting two northerners on the same ticket is suicide (And two from the same state even more so). There will never be a Clinton Obama ticket. Maybe a Clinton/Richards/Edwards.
On another topic. I too have never understood her claims of experience. If either Barbara Bush were to try to run for president, they would get a nice pat on the head and a kick out the door.
I’m trying to parse this. What I come up with is a swinging lesbian pimping out her partner cheap.
My reaction to the “tearing up” moment was disgust. What is she trying to tell us-- that only she can run the country? Fuck that. She was upset because she wants to be prez and it looked like the voters were rejecting her for another candidate. Well, tough shit, Hill. The election is about us, not you. Deeply personal, my ass! It’s “deeply personal” for all of us, and a lot of us want Obama instead of you. Get the fuck over it. Or, rather, get the fuck over yourself.
Guys, Clinton’s been in the lead for pretty much the whole campaign. Obama unexpectedly won Iowa a week ago and you convinced yourself it was an easy slide from there into the Oval Office. Don’t blame New Hampshire because you had unreasonable expectations. Whoever wins this election still has a lot of work ahead of them.
And try to stay within the realm of reality. If you convince yourself that Barack Obama is The One you’re going to be disappointed even if he becomes President because you’re going to discover he’s actually just another human being like all of us.
I really can’t imagine this would ever happen. Neither Obama nor Clinton have much experience, and while their Democratic opponents are a bit too polite to point that out now - especially with Hillary - don’t count on the Republicans being as soft. When either Obama or Clinton seals up the nomination, the Republicans will start with either “He’s only four years removed from the state legislature, for goodness’ sake” or “Being a first lady is not experience.”
I would imagine Obama or Clinton would pick more of an “elder statesman” for his or her running mate. Someone with extensive foreign policy experience, probably.
I agree 100%. If you look at how threads are being generated in GD or listen to the news, you’d think every tiny move in the polls is a 180 degree change in the primary. OMG, Obama is going to win!! OMG, Hillary is going to win!! OMG, McCain is “surging”!
I actually kind of hope this thing stays up in the air until Super Tuesday. But after that, it should be pretty much over.
To be fair, I’m not sure I could either. (I’m gonna guess about $3 and $1 respectively)
Well, if you put a gun to their head, it costs whatever you say it costs.
“Me and Mr. Beretta, here, say you oughta buy this gallon of moo juice for $500. Got a problem with that?”
My guess is that Hillary isn’t going to say “let them eat cake”. But that’s just a guess…
I don’t really have a dog in this fight, because I’m not a Hillary supporter, but I find it amusing (and somewhat alarming) that posters in this thread keep talking about Clinton’s tears even after numerous other posters have pointed out that she didn’t shed any, as if they refuse to believe the media would ever blow an event out of proportion. It makes you sound like you’re talking out your asses; you obviously haven’t even seen the footage. I’ve seen the clip, from different sources, and she manifestly did not cry. And if anybody can point out to me where she did, I’d love to see it (and the twisted logic used to explain how that was an “emotional breakdown”). There are plenty of good reasons to object to her (or anyone else’s) candidacy, but if you’re just going to parrot the talking heads on Fox News, your commitment to fighting ignorance is in serious doubt.
The sky is falling!,

People tend to be nostalgic for the Clinton years these days however there is plenty of negative baggage associated with that as well. I am inclined to believe that if she ever learned to give a decent blowjob, she would be a show-in.
Dear Merkwurdigliebe,
What kind of insult is fuck you? Oh
how horrible, you’ve cursed us to do
something besides complain about snow.
We hope you never get laid again.

One of the more believable reason’s I’ve heard for her unexpected win - particularly her strong showing with women - is the Tweety Effect.
Basically, a lot of people have become disgusted with the over-the-top vicious unfounded attacks on Hilary merely because she’s Hilary. And the appalling double standard that is being applied to her behavior (Heck, the only public figure who cries more than Mitt Rommney is Dick Vermiel) vs. all the men. They get to mist up, display emotion and be nasty as all get out and get a free pass. Hilary’s voice cracks for a moment and there are tons of folks raving about her “emotional breakdown” or “calculated move.” The voter’s only defense against this unfair treatment is to pull the lever for her.
No, she didn’t cry, but she was welling up–you could tell in her voice and her eyes. I believe it wasn’t an act, but was legit emotion (though, like John Mace, said, the reason behind the tears is rather specious).
I think the Dems are fools if they eventually decide on Hillary, but I think the NH results were just what Obama needed. I called it before anyone else here on the Dope, but I believe Obama’s going to win–but to do so, he needs to stay in fighting shape, and having Hillary as a formidable opponent will not only toughen his game, but show a lot of the Independents and Republicans what he’s made of and what he stands for.
It’s in his advantage to remain an “underdog”. He’s still defining the tone and tenor of this race (in both parties!), and he’s still going to be getting a lot of attention–and by being himself, and not pandering from state to state, he tends to have few moments where he says or does the wrong thing because of the extra scrutiny.
And I think this NH result will mobilize all the people who may have been fooled into thinking that Iowa meant it was a done deal. It’s going to be a real fight, but I think that’s just going to help him more and more–particularly if the Republican candidate ends up being anyone beside McCain (who is still a bit of a long shot, last night notwithstanding).
Plus, Edwards’ poor showing means that he’s probably a done deal after South Carolina, and I’d be willing to bet that his supporters will pick Obama over Hillary 2-to-1 (at the very least). This nudges Barack ahead, while constantly keeping the Clinton campaign off-balance and defensive.
A week ago, he was predicted to lost NH, and last night, he came closer to winning than the polls back then suggested. It’ll be an uphill battle, but I think he’ll be a better candidate (and a better president) because of it.
Why is this any different from all the idiots nation-wide that re-elected Bush?
See, the thing that bothers me–even if she had cried, which she did not–the true strength of a woman is in the fact that most of us can show emotion and still get the job done. I’ve had to make hard decisions through tears before. I’m pretty sure that means I’m not weak. YMMV.
