We would be better off with Tijuana Bibles…
I much admired the free-market entrepreneurship of the Mexican pharmacy.
Win!
Unlike Buchanan . . . the demned papest mackerel-snapper . . .
Which is nothing compared to the courage and ingenuity of the Free Mexican Air Force!
Irony, as pointed out by Rachel Maddow

So “Affirmative Action” is okay when it benefits conservatives I guess.
Oddly enough, the thread directly below this one at the moment is “Who Do You Want To Punch Out?”… :dubious:
Oddly, Pat Buchanan is something of a progressive. A Progressive who is a different kind of asshole/idiot from the norm, but nonetheless.
Pat Buchanan is not so much progressive on some issues as he is a very old school conservative (i.e., the pre-WWII kind that advocated isolationism in trade and foreign affairs except when communism was involved). That’s why he was against NAFTA and involvement in both Iraqi wars.
Make the world a better place, punch Pat Buchanan in the face.
(Yes, I’m seven years old.)
“Wrath”: or did you mean “rash”?
Oh come on, he looks nothing like that dude in “The Apprenticeship Of Duddy Kravitz”.
That’s not actually conflicting with what I wrote. Pre-WW2 “conservatives” tended to fall into two vague camps: freemarket/big business types and more idealistic Progressives. The Proggies eventually made themselves really, really unwanted and marginalized themselves. The GOP is weak in the Northeast today because the party there slowly committed suicide; ideologically they are not very distinguishable from hard-left Dem’s except by being less ideological and more opportunistic. Plus, (and here’s where Buchanon comes back in) the Progressive factions tended to be quasi-fascist and racist/eugenicist. A lot.
Didn’t the Fathers of our country have Separation of Church and STATE as part of the Constitution because they came to America to get away from Protestants trying to force their brand of Christianity on each other. Made sure the miniority was protected from the Majority?
Actually, if you’re referring to the Puritans, they were being persecuted by the government of England, which was C of E, i.e. Protestant. There was a strong fellow movement in the Netherlands, also Protestant. Persecution has not been limited to Catholic vs. Protestant. Henry VIII, who switched England to a Protestant religion, persecuted other Protestants.
It’s okay, the Puritans promptly persecuted my Irish ancestors when they came over. This kind of stupid stuff has a long history in America.
