Dear Straight Dope please read this very sad story.

I usually do not do this kind of thing but am at the point that I need some help getting this story out. This is regarding my friends mom who is in a really bad spot right now and needs some legal counsel. Here is an explaination of the story that I am pasting from the original post from Wish Upon a Hero

This wish is for my mother not for me. I am wishing for a lawyer to help my mother defend herself in a case against my father for child support. My mom was laid off recently and is trying to make it but barely doing so. She has to share a place with a room mate and can barely afford to buy herself food. My father on the other hand just bought himself and Mercedes approx two years ago, bought my brother a car, a $1,000 dog, and is taking him to Indianapolis for the Indianoplois 500. However he says he can’t afford to financially provide for him. In turn he is sueing my mom for child support when he never paid a dime to her for me. This is just the tip of the iceberg to be honest, I have so much but only so many characters…I as her daughter who can barely afford her own bills while trying to stay in college, can do nothing but sit by and watch this. I can’t take hearing my mother cry once more or hearing about how she can’t afford to feed herself. It breaks my heart everyday and I wish I had the money to help but I don’t. So if someone could help her fight this case, I’m sure she could win. Someone, please help. It would mean more than anything to me.

I have just been told that the money is being taken out of her moms account every pay check and she cannot afford to buy food. With her current bills this puts her at -$187 a week.
