Shit–brainfart–substitute “Stanely Donan” (still a male) for “Vincente Minnelli” (another male)
This all reminds me of a recent thread. Men oppressing the world is very similar to Jews controlling Hollywood.
I couldn’t stand 30 seconds of those manginas peddling their new age shit. The video was so embarrassing I didn’t know where to look.
Yeah, OK, I admit that kind of distracted me…
Stoid, the whole video is the goo factor. Really. There’s an underlying theme of “gosh, men suck, we do bad stuff to women,” but actually, those with power do bad stuff to people without power. Men are more likely to have it, but women who get power can be pretty damned warlike or just mean. Check out Margaret Thatcher (aka the “Iron Lady”) for the prime example that comes to mind.
There are issues that women continue to deal with, but this video is just a feel-good bit of pablum that evokes the '70s, drum circles, etc. Gosh, thanks for “honoring my womanhood,” whatever the fuck that means - if they really want to make an actual difference, how about some statements like, “I work in my HR department to make sure there is equal work for equal pay,” or “I volunteer in ways that help battered women’s shelters stay open,” or things that make a concrete difference? Anyone can stare at a little camera and say sappy New Age sentiments; what happens when they go home afterward?
:: Applauds wholeheartedly ::
Christ, what a bunch of pretentious Nice Guys. Stoid, if these fucks don’t give you the mother-goddess of all creeps, your divine earthy intuitive feminine energy-powered creep detector is severely out of whack.
If women are so in touch with the life forces of the universe, how come I always wind up sleeping on the wet spot?
Regards,
Shodan
Because your male cosmic power is out of whack and you don’t have the ability to effortlessly construct a geometric diagram and ensure that by the time the festivities are over, the drippy bits are properly positioned on her side of the bed. Also, don’t blame your wife, the life forces of the Earth Mother are well known for drippage.
And verily, the great gaping gap of Goatse spoke, and the Zirfesto of the Great White Goddess was re-birthed, all praise be to Gaia.
Is that what they mean by “coming” to consciousness?
Regards,
Shodan
You’re not getting it. The statements themselves aren’t necessarily insulting, it’s the implications that those characteristics are inherently feminine qualities that’s insulting. They’re nothing more than cheap and untrue stereotypes. And it’s not exactly a stretch to hear them saying “As men, our preoccupation with goals and results often has burnt us out”" to mean women haven’t been goal-oriented. If that wasn’t what they meant, they would have included women in the statement, to imply that it’s part of the human condition, not just part of the male condition.
See, the whole point of what they’re saying. That women have inherent characteristics that are different from the inherent characteristics of me. Which is a bunch of bullshit, IMO.
I couldn’t watch any more of the drivel than about this, but when I saw this person, my thought is this isn’t the first time he’s ever said that line to a woman. “We can create great miracles together” with a little toss of his head.
Makes me wish I had thought of that.
Yes it’s insulting. It’s basically saying if you lack those characteristics, you are not a woman. Guess what, I am not a fucking peacemaker. I do not feel “connected with the earth” (gag). Does that make me some sort of freakish man-with-a-vagina? I would say no, because I am not so stupid, ignorant and puerile, to think “kindness” “intuition” &cetera is an inherent quality of femaleness (surely you know some women who are clueless nasty bitches), yet these men would have me think I do not even qualify as female. Fuck that.
The state that men have put the world in is a result of not eating enough human placenta.
Duh, your vagina.
Here’s a better video that Men should watch and appreciate. I think it gets to the heart of the Man-Woman conflict.
You’re confusing them with Jesus. These guys are just appologizing for your sins, not dying for them. Maybe you could suggest that if they really wanted to be taken seriously…
Yes, yes you would. I certainly do.
Oh, I thought that was when they said… fuck, don’t make me listen to this again…
Oh here we go at 4:30, it’s the romance novel cover dude from around the 1:21 mark: “worship each other with our bodies with awareness and devotion.”
It even looks like a scene from a Lifetime channel TV movie.
Personally I prefer to do my worshiping-of-bodies with a couple beers in me, rather than awareness and devotion, but that’s because of my Cosmic Masculine Energy.
Actually, I get this.
I’m an atheist, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have some of that Christian energy of forgiveness and kindness, or that Jewish energy of dealmaking and cleverness.
I’m white, and I can honor my white energy of leadership and dominance while also valuing that sensual, carefree energy that black people have.
It’s okay to engage in stereotyping as long as your stereotypes are at least superficially complimentary and as long as you claim everyone can match the stereotype.
What you’re not getting–what you really ought to get after reading all the comments to you in this thread from females–is that there IS no female perspective. Y’all aren’t a hive mind with a single perspective, any more than men are.
